They are pretty good so I think you're probably right. I hope so. If not, I can always look for a Superlux here and send it to you so you can fix the cups on another band!! If you use a belt ..... watch out for the buckle!!!

The buckle is broken a bit, so that's not an issue The headphones are usable even as they are The rods hold them on nicely... But that headband is way too brittle.

I'm really proud of my belt!!! Helena took it down to the shoe repair guy in Oxted to have a couple of extra holes put in. My weight has dropped quite a bit,so my trousers are now starting to fall off me so the belt had to have more holes to stay on me!!

Thomann sends me another pair. So, as soon as it arrives, it's modding time! (Keeping the parts safe, though, in case the new ones fault too... In that case T arranges for a pickup for them both for closer inspection)

That's brilliant. Makes me feel good about Thomann actually. What good service. It's those efficient Germans again eh?

Cannot help but wonder where the headband design comes from...

The new ones arrived, time to take old ones apart.
Edit: Damn, the female connector I have is like 0.5mm too wide to fit... Well, i need to source a new one. And damn the wiring is thin.

After a lot of searching, there's no options to that jack. So, I will either need to run it without the silvery end cap so the connector fits, or just drill a new hole through the cup... The shiny outer ring is actually separate piece, but I'd rather not do that. Damn, I wish I had a 3D-printer

Ok, the plan this far is to Order Beats' remote talk cable, and ditch the silvery part on the left phone to accommodate the female jack better. But then again, I have one more question concerning the earpads: Are there any thicker ones available? The velours are nice, but my earlobes hurt after a while as they come in touch with the inside of the phone, i have inner conch piercing which apparently also contributes to that...

Perhaps a Kameleon filter could be designed to resemble the HD662-EVO more closely. It would defeat the purpose of the Kameleon (which is designed to remove sound coloration) unless I would make available filter modules for each headphone having a 'fun' and 'flat' character. Instead keeping both is what I did. The HD650 (on Kameleon) is my 'reference' and when in the mood the HD800 on Kameleon. For a fun and pleasant/enjoyful sound the HD662-EVO is good enough playing from any portable device. When going small and very portable the KSC75 is pulled out of its bag. Not that HD650/800 on Kameleon isn't pleasant/enjoyful, they are great to enjoy BUT they are open and not as fun. I've been reading through this entire thread since there is a deal on them right now. solderdude, I am a fan of the KSC75 sound signature. I know comparing an open headphone to a closed one is different, but would I like the HD668 EVOs coming from the KSC75s? I end up returning a lot of headphones because they simply do not match up to the KSC75s.

I end up returning a lot of headphones because they simply do not match up to the KSC75s. I came from PortaPro myself and they're gathering dust now... Just my opinion. Sidenote: added some foam padding under the velour pads, now my lobes are clear and comfort added

Well, I decided to jump on this since there is a deal on Gearbest at the moment.
The reviews on this thread sold me on them. Thanks for all the helpful posts everyone.

Finally got around to do that female-mod, and it's working. Reassembly too some time though, as the jack housing needed clearing some plastic out of the way... Now, are there any suitable thick pads out there?
