The rhythm of the vocals remind me of any 'Bostich' off any album. Yello fans will know what I mean. Love the Dance/Trance vibe to this track. Makes me wonder, if Yello and Kraftwerk had never existed, what music would the "Superstar DJ's/Producers/Remixers" of today have to steal/rip-off, oops sorry, I mean sample?

Talking to Dave in a pm today, I mentioned an album, actual vinyl , that I had loved as a teenager. This got me thinking of others I had really loved but which may not be that well-known. I know that back in the day my Sabbath, Purple, and Zep loving mates used to look at me quite suspiciously when, after listening to the latest, from Ozzy, I would say "Yeah, really great, but wait till you hear Deep Forest!". Had a listen earlier and its just as good as I remember. Seems to be termed as World Music though it sounds to me more like trip-hop but before the actual term was coined. In the comments section of the youtube video its surprising how many other people mention first hearing it when quite young but it staying with them . . .

Another old, old favourite. The more I go through my 'back-catalogue' of old stuff I realise how much of an electronic fan I was! I have never thought of myself that way, always would have described myself as a massive blues fan, then rock in general, with loads of singer-song-writer stuff thrown in for good measure. Turns out I was a closet electronic geek all along. (apologies to Ian)

O.K., this evening's listening session has turned into a full-on retro-fest Another great album, Strange Cargo from William Orbit. Dave, you may like him as he also re-interprets classical pieces. I'll UL some later.

Time for bo-bo's, and to finish off, another favourite from the (late) nineties. I don't know much about this band and only bought the one album back then, and only because I liked the cover!
Reading some of the comments on the you-tube page, apparently its a classic of 'Ambient' music.
Is ambient the same as Chill-out? Is it the same as Trip-hop? Or Down-tempo? Could Chopin's Nocturnes be described as Dark Ambient? Or Lounge? Could Satie's music be described as Ambient? He himself called some of it "furniture music"
Who cares! I get tired sometimes of people incessantly trying to pidgeon-hole music.
Anyway, this is a beautiful piece of music. Don't bother listening to it when there's stuff going on around you - this is one for sitting back, relaxing with a drink and listening to with pleasure.
