just installed the free trial tonight. took a little while to get my head around it, but managed to get all my cd rips to upscale to 192. confirmed by blue light on the mojo. my problem appears when trying to upscale to dsd. standard dsd works ok, but 2x and 4x play stutters. i have selected the DoP option. is there something else i need to change?

the jriver wasapi driver works at 4xdsd, so will stick with that for now.

i have noticed when jriver is upscaling to dsd, if i open up my emails or web browser i get a momentary pause in playback. does anyone know if i need to change a setting somewhere to stop this? does not happen if upscaling to any pcm level.
edit. just found someone asking same thing on a hf thread, i believe the program writers reply on there so i should get an answer later.

I'm just guessing here, Simon, but I wonder how much processing is going on for dsd. My music computer is a shocking cheapie and it won't play dsd as well as it could if were a better machine. The effect on mine though is that files run at a slow speed and low pitch, as though the tape is running slow. It can also freeze.
I use a Fiio most of the time though so it doesn't bother me that much.
Don't even mention movie editing on it ........

had this debate already, Ian, with Javier on the micro thread. he confirmed my pc should be capable without issues. i did get upscaling working on the micro at dsd512, with no problems until the micro died. i suspect my problem is with jriver set-up this time or my mojo.

having said that my problem could still be pc related, i guess.
looking back i had no issues years ago with my old pc using coax digital out of the motherboard to my meier stagedac. i have had issues ever since moving to usb audio, but sometimes long periods with no problems.
maybe i should get a sound card for my pc with a 24/192 digi out and be done with it. as it stands i am unsure about dsd upscaling anyway. not sure i hear an improvement!!

have re-connected my micro and have been upscaling in jriver to dsd256 with no problems for 10 mins or so now. the problem when using mojo was there instantly.
i wonder if its a corrupt driver install, as i used to get playback errors on foobar referencing the inability to start aiso playback.

I just checked and found that indeed the Mojo doesn't have ASIO compatible drivers so you are limited to WASAPI and DoP for DSD. It seems the drivers come in the Mojo itself and are installed the first time it gets plugged to a PC so I presume it could be important to keep it updated (if there is such a choice that is).

Replied in the Mojo thread but there is an ASIO compatible driver available.
With regards to drivers there are none pre-loaded on the Mojo itself. You need to download and install a driver package before you first connect Mojo to the PC. Presumably Chord will update the suite as time goes on (ASIO is on v1.05 which would indicate they do).

i seem to have an issue getting bit perfect/ exclusive play back on jriver.
when playing, i can go to youtube and play videos with sound mixed with jriver playback. this does not happen with foobar. as far as i can see , in audio device manager, is ok. am i missing a setting somewhere in jriver?
