Okay, I decided to order a pair after all....guess what? Spinfits were included!! 3rd time lucky At £45 it seemed daft not to. I'll likely keep them as a back up pair (spare everything basically) but if a regular missed out and is keen to try a Trinity IEM or upgrade from another of their IEMs I'd be willing to sell them on for what I paid (£45) + onward postage costs (£5 to UK/EU roughly). Interestingly they also included 3 pairs (S/M/L) of some clear silicone tips with red 'collars'. Just in a plain bag so not sure if they are some new tip they will be bundling with future IEMs. The collars look too wide for the Sabre filters though so wouldn't be surprised if they slide off far too easily....that's something I hope they sort out with the re-worked models. Proper tip matching to suit the filters.

Crikey Mark. You going mad? It is a very, very good deal to be honest and I don't blame you. Now if I was £500 ones come down I might actually think about it myself. They're coming up as 'sold out' here Mark. You must have got one of the last ones.

I quite possibly am Ian!! Although there is quite a lot going out the door to make room for and fund all these new arrivals. I really rate the Sabre and at that price it seemed daft not to buy another. The cables can be a bit iffy as you know and tips or IEMs can be misplaced so having a pair in reserve isn't such a bad move really. I honestly don't think it'll come as much of a surprise if the Master doesn't knock the Sabre off its perch. In which case I'll sell that one on and call it a day IEM wise* Only regret I have is not buying two...or more (* reserve the right to revise my stance if they do indeed reduce the £500 ones...)

I've now had Marks Vyrus for 4 days or so & I love them. I'm not very experienced with IEM's, only having owned two previously (Sennheiser IE6 & Soundmagic E30. The Vyrus is head & shoulders above both of those in my opinion. I really like the sound with the open Gold filters too. Coupled with the double flange tips they're the most secure IEM's I've ever tried. The only other filter I like is the Gunmetal one but it's just a bit safe sounding. It's actually fairly close in chacter to the HD 650. The Golds are better though, more exciting. The fact that they fit very securely though is the deal-maker for me. It's very important on the bike tat they be secure & so far,so good on that front. I actually think the isolation might be a bit too much for cycling around town here. Maybe I just need to re-adjust to the rules of the road & think ahead a bit more.

They are terrific Gordon. I like them a lot and going up the Trinity line just reveals even better iems too.
I can't believe the bass levels that come out of them and the non-fatiguing treble.
The isolation is very good so riding a bike is indeed dangerous. I find even walking around with them a bit disconcerting since you become totally unaware of your surroundings!!

Another benefit of IEM's in general - and one I'd forgotten about - is how much detail is audible at relatively low levels. Especially when compared to my HD 650's. We have air-con here & I don't really notice the noise by now. I do notice it once it's gone though.
Last night I listened to the Vyrus for nearly 5 hours straight. I heard John Martyns' Solid Air probably better than I've ever heard it before. I need to hqve a look at different tips though because although the double flange tips are secure & seal very well they do feel a bit too probing.

I can't wear those tips at all Gordon. I had to use a larger rubber tip that doesn't go in so deep before it seals. Not as secure but does the job.
With my ie8 I have custom fits but they're so expensive.
Amping and attenuating is even better.

I actually liked the ones Mark had fitted on delivery but couldn't resist trying the dual-flange variety because, logic says, it should isolate better. I think it does but after a couple of albums their physical presence is felt. I actually have some Comply tips left over rom previous ventures so I might try them but I always think with Comply that, while they do work, they make fitting the IEM's a chore. I'm intrigued by the SpinFit tips. They're new to me, in fact the first I heard about them was in this very thread? How have those worked out for you guys? I've been listening to the Vyrus some more today and you know, if push came to shove & I could only keep one headphone, it would probably be these. That's a big thing to say for someone of little means who's already invested in Sennheiser HD 650's, Project Ember & ODAC but they really are that good. Let's not forget that I'm feeding them with a Sansa Clip+. That's €40! For an all-in price comfortably under €100 that's saying something. I wear them over the ear, btw. Do any of you old fogeys have to wear reading glasses as I do? I have my specs on a string. Can you guess how many times I've got the whloe lot tangled up? In fact, lqst night I was playing with the filters but in low light. Someone's already commented as to the illegibility of the manual but actually all the graphics from Trinity are crap. In fact one of the most annoying thing about the company is just how obscure the details regarding the filters are. I appreciate they're a new company but they need to hire a decent graphic artist to come up with something better. I would fix it all for free. But do you know what's the single biggest annoyance for me? No Braille markings. They really need to sort this issue out. It's bad enouh for me but I can at least switch on all the ceiling lights & don a headtorch (yes, I do that - more often than I wish to admit) but how would a blind person deal with these? And that's really all I can find to complain about. The headphones themselves are superb for me. I should point out that Mark gave me these headphones for free so I'm not justifying the purchase. Finally, thanks to Mark. Someone I've actually met (once). We got on, to my surprise (because I'm obviously a bit odd with people). He's one of the good guys. something this forum is blessed by.

It is really surprising how iem's have really developed. The sound that is possible from them now has really improved massively and in the case of Trinity Audio, as you say Gordon, verging on slightly embarrassing for well known headphones.
I find the Trinity idea of the neutral 'barrels' best. If the bass isn't enough, I use the barrel with the slightly more bass, but for general listening, the closest to 'neutral' barrel works for me.
Identifying left and right is a pain on all of them. Even with the Sabre. It is marked but I still have trouble reading it so I go by the angle of the barrels.
The Vyrus was a real 'ear opener' to me and has made me much more open to the higher end ones. Both Mark and myself are waiting for the Masters which are retailing at £150. I'd never have considered paying that much for an iem (we didn't though) until I heard what the cheaper Vyrus can do.
Mark is rather a good chap isn't he? I can't believe that he sent the Nighthawk on a round trip!!
Another one was old Mick. You know, he sent me a top of the line Grado to try. I couldn't believe his generosity and how trusting he was. Very nice of him to have done that.
When my Master arrives, one of the three that I have will be going. Not sure which tough until I hear the Master.

Mick gave me a very fine valve for my Ember. A good bloke.
Listening to the Vyrus from the Project Ember MkII. JAN 6SN7 GT Canadian Military Spec. 1945.
Music that's purpose-built to mess with your head is amazing!
Mark supplied the Medium Orange insert & I'm using them now. It's a mellower sound though, using the same Gold see-through filters.

The Ember's not hissing? Generally, valves are pretty noisy with such an easy load.

Not this valve. This is exquisite. I haven't tried any others.

Thank you both for the very kind words. I'm a little embarrassed but also extremely touched by them. You guys rock too I've also tried plugging IEMs into the Ember in the past too and found it surprisingly quiet. And they didn't half sound sweet. But not a lot of play on the volume knob and I was always a bit wary of knocking it inadvertently so stuck to 'safer' amps. But in those days there wasn't a good attenuator on the market but now there are a couple of good options but neither is particularly cheap....but you get what you pay for (don't mention the proto Ian lol). I think the Vyrus is designed to be worn over ear. At least the Sabre is and if you wear them cable down then due to the angle of the filters the only sensible option is to put the left bud in the right ear and vice versa. Or swap 'reverse' the cables. All very valid points / niggles Gordon and Ian and I share many of them as do a lot of other owners. Trinity seem to be a company that listens to its customers though so I am sure that the majority will be addressed in future iterations. But all of these things are fixable and fade into insignificance when you start to listen to their IEMs. They don't half sound good! In terms of the Vyrus my preferred tip was the double flange. But you are right Gordon, they are quite 'invasive'. Wasn't too keen on the Spinfit with the Vyrus but oddly with the Sabre I find they work the best for me! Can pop a set in the post if you want to give them a burl though?

Just noticed that there is now a countdown clock on the Master pre-order page. Apparently they will ship exactly 1 month from now (10th March) so not long.
I'd like to say that I'm eagerly anticipating their arrival but for some reason I'm not. No idea why because I don't doubt they'll be good. Perhaps for once I'm just happy enjoying what I already have.
I know they're 'only' 60 quid but I'm wondering if I should just cancel my pre-order and save the cash. It's been an expensive few weeks!!

Is there some kind of cancellation fee? I'm staying with it, so I can always let you know what they sound like...... Besides, haven't they already taken payment? Check your account at Trinity, Mark. £60 has gone out.
