Jeremy/solderdude,
Is it ok to try 6SL7/5691 in the Ember with the new 6SN7 adapter? Will it be ok to try 12SL7 in the Solstice?

yes !
For the Ember... make sure the right solderjumper is used in the socket (it is found on the pin-side in the middle of the PCB). This differs from the jumpers needed for Solstice so you may need 2 converter sockets dedicated for each amp. The reason for this is the auto-heater select function of the Ember.
In the Solstice you can also use 9-8pin adapters as found on fleabay and various sites, these adapters can NOT be used on the Ember, only the G1217 adapter can be used on Ember.

I have it setup on the site for people to order per what amp they have so there is no confusion. Going off memory so will double check things tonight www.garage1217.com/garage1217_diy_tube_headphone_amplifiers_012.htmSolder jumper 1 (closest to the pins) is for Starlight, Sunrise, Horizon and Ember Solder jumper 2 (center solder jumper) is for Solstice and all other amplifiers

I thought you can use the 'solder jumper 2 version' in Starlight, Sunrise, Horizon as well BUT the heater selector in the amp should be set to '12V' when using 6V tubes which is counter intuitive. For that reason Solstice has another heater arrangement and for 6SN7 and 12SN7 the heater selector should be set to 6V (and 6 + OHV for 12SN7 tubes)
To make things worse newer revisions of Starlight, Sunrise, Horizon and Ember will likely also have the 'newer' heater pin arrangement so Garage 1217 and other adapters can be used. Of course, the G1217 adapters are better made, lower in height, and have goldplated and durable contacts. I don't think this could be said about the other adapters out there.

What is not mentioned in that interview style review of the G1217 (as a business) is the endless hours Frans has had to put up with me, my questions, ideas, critiquing layouts, email barrages while I test or tweak things or am seeking help to tweak things, his patience, countless times he wishes he could smack me upside the head with a stick, his effort and love for the hobby and so on and so on... Clearly and obviously, without Frans - G1217 would not exist in even the slightest way that it does.Just want to make sure that is WELL known - Frans is the man! And we make some cool stuff
Edit: I love the writeup but it feels to focused on me - makes me feel guilty knowing how much Frans and even my wife has helped. I put in an insane amount of hours but I am no one man show, that is for sure. The author asked me to do a writeup on the company, so I puked a few pages on G1217 and by writing about G1217, it seems it translated to more on me in the final review. I wanted to share the actual word for word small novel that I wrote the author as it tells a small story and puts others in light - not just me. Wish it translated better.LITTLE STORY ON G1217

A question for you guys. Is it possible to purchase a lovely, shiny power cable that will fit the Ember? I'm talking purely aesthetically here. Cooler looking and better built than the standard cable is what I'm looking for. It would help in photos. I guess it's the curse of the wall-warts.
*cheap as chips would be nice too.

These are only rough edits. The finished photos will be uploaded to my Dropbox and you'll be sent a link to access them. It takes time to get this right. We'll be doing it again pretty soon but next time we have a plan.

I rotated it slightly (so the piano keys line up horizontally) and enhanced the colour and lowered the brightness a bit.
