Ember is travelling to my house right now, I can't wait to meet her! That's quite a long travel indeed!

Yes, and it's quite huge! Here some pics: But honestly I live at around 50minutes~1hours from this town, there I am: PS: we could manage to create a "Where do you live? Post your pics!" Thread also

Had some extra time tonight so I figured I would try my earphones with the Ember, I have a pair of Earjax Lyrics, and a pair of Hifiman Re-zero's and am very impressed with the sound on these. Even with the low impedance this is the best these have ever sounded. My hd650's are my mainstay, but these could step in without a problem. Finding the new pair of 650's to be much tighter than my older pair. I don't remember the fit being this tight. Have to unbox the older pair and do another compare, maybe sell the new pair instead. Still favor the 6SN7's with the Ember, glad I bought two adapters, easier to swap tubes!

Curious if anyone has tried the Ember with the Audeze LCD-X Headphones.
If so, would love to know how they pair.

It would seem nobody is around to give specific advice so allow me to say if it doesn't make your headphones sing I'll eat your hat!
Gordon.

It seems do well with the LCD-2 which isn't that different from the LCD-X.
AFAIK there are no LCD-X owners here.

The X's are more efficient than the LCD-2 at only 20 ohms. They still need a good amount of power to make them really perform though. I would so much love to hear the Ember and see how it matches up with the Uber Bifrost and the LCD-X as the combination. All I would need to do is to add the Ember.

Like most amps nowadays, the Ember is pretty flat with a tube sound, which means that it has lots of nice sounding harmonics flavouring it! If you like the sound of a tube amp, you'd most likely enjoy the Ember.
It certainly has enough power to drive the LCD and there is also the choice to vary the output impedance which can alter the bass mostly, in a very subtle way in most cases.
At the price it sells at, it's a bargain.

The X's are more efficient than the LCD-2 at only 20 ohms. They still need a good amount of power to make them really perform though. They differ more than I thought indeed. When connected to the same amplifier on the same volume setting the LCD-X will play 9.5dB louder (twice as loud) as an older LCD-2 The numbers from Audeze and Tyll are a bit diverging. The LCD2's Tyll measured ranged from 50 to 70 Ohm and efficiency ranged from 0.2W to 0.8W for 90dB The rev2 being the least efficient and the latest Fazor version is the most efficient one. When we assume the fazor LCD2 vs the LCDX then the LCD2-fazor can reach about 128dB SPL on the Ember. The LCD-X (measured by Tyll as 15 Ohm) will reach 121 dB/SPL. Both will be very uncomfortably loud before clipping levels are reached. You can add more 'tubyness' in the LCD-X when using the amp on the med-R out setting.

the problem (a marvellous problem indeed) with the Ember is very few people had listen it with his true potential..... I had bought a jan chs sylvania tube it was a revelation compared to my already very good bugle boy.... But yesterday i try my new sylvania 1951 6sn7 gt... complete upgrade more 3 d and better clarity in the highs and in the bass frequencies....Where does this upgrading end? 4 species of tubes now and at each time a complete upgrade audible in few second.... My question is Jeremy do you know your own creation and the true potential of your design ?
