This is probably the single best piece of pure driving video I've ever seen. The engine just sounds gorgeous and the driver is really doing a fantastic job..

Where? Has it shot off the page? Damn! I think I probably hit the image insert button rather than video insert. My bad, fixed it now though. Really worth a watch.

Nice! I do believe that's the closest I'll ever get to actually riding in one. It'll have to do.

Yeah Joe, same here. I don't have much experience of fast cars. The only two serious machines I've been in were a Nissan GT-R and a Mercedes-Benz AMG E55. The Nissan was utterly incredible becuase there's no wheelspin or anything dramatic except for noise. The AMG was scary.

I've owned a Fiat X19, which, while not incredibly fast, was tons of fun! I've also owned a Dodge Daytona Turbo, which was faster than the Fiat, but still nothing like a Ferrari. Other than those two, everything else have been family cars, SUVs, and 4X4 pickups... and a couple of motorcycles.

It handles better though. In fact it would probably beat the Ferrari down most roads.

You could up that by 10BHP with only a remap. A new exhaust gives another 20BHP. porting a further 20BHP.

You could up that by 10BHP with only a remap. A new exhaust gives another 20BHP. porting a further 20BHP. i have been looking into exactly that. a re-map alone at BBR costs £600 though. the biggest restriction is the exhaust manifold. BBR's "180" bhp mod fitted is £1095 + vat this includes the manifold. there are other places ie Roddinsons, Blink motorsport and closest to me Skuzzle motorsport. they are slightly cheaper but BBR were the pioneers of mx5 tuning. then of course there are supercharger or turbo mods, which then leads to new clutch and brakes. before you know it you double the price of the car. i guess its about finding that sweet spot, which for me, is BBR's 200bhp mod where they change the ex mani', camshafts and then re-map. this is about £2500 when i last looked, so wont happen anytime soon, unfortunately. having said all this.................... its bloody great fun car as it is! (thankfully)
