It looks very similar to the stuff I use. If you slip a small piece of it in an envelope I can compare it.
The felt measurably works slightly better/different than the creatology craft felt Keith had sent me.

Will do Frans - what sort of size do you need?
PM me your address and I'll get it in the post ASAP.

If you want it measured on the headphone rig (should be receiving a T50 to mod any day now) it needs to be the size seen in my article (the business end side) otherwise a smaller patch will do, just enough to see/feel and compare.
I got the medical felt a long time ago and used most of it already.

Frans, the felt is in the post. I put some wool in the packet too - let me know what you think.

When I have some time I will send you sheep wool in an envelope. I have a load of that stuff.
Busy weekend.... alas.

How do you rate the HE-6 without the filter ? (switched off) Frans, I really didn't want to see this question. I tried the filter switched on a number of times and to be honest it was making a difference, more on some tracks than others, I couldn't put my finger on what it was but I much preferred the switch off. In fact I gave up and just kept it off for most of the time I've had them. I had them disconnected ready for parcelling up for return but when I saw your post I thought I'd give them one more try as I really do know that everything you have done or suggested to me in the past has been A1. Same, much preferred the filter off. But it niggled given the success of all your other stuff, so I went back to Mick's PMs to me and read back to the start. There I read "The filter is on when the switch on the back is in the UP position." (copied exactly as emphasised by Mick), I of course missed it completely. So I was going the UK way where down is on. That's got to be as blind and unbiased a test as I'm likely to carry out. So, your reputation is intact and I need a filter I would have still loved these phones without the filter had I never heard it but once its been introduced there's no way back, for me, my ears anyway. Syd, that was a brilliant post. I read it through.... became concerned that something wasn't quite right and then laughed my head off at the end. I most definitely prefer my T40 with a filter. Stuck in a hotel at the moment listening to it coming from a Neco. The HE6 one may be a little bit more subtle than the T40 one which creates a serious lift in the top end. Wish I was home with the filter!!!!

Wish I was home with the filter!!!! I got a laugh when I discovered what I'd been doing, still, it shows I have some sort of ear for a good sound Ian. Stuck in a hotel with a less than adequate amp is not a good way to spend a weekend! I used to travel a fair bit with work and I was stuck in Carlisle for 6 weeks at one time so I took the car ferry over every Monday and drove back Friday evening, I got to know that road to Cairnryan pretty well. I took to carrying an i-river and an X-Can V3 with X-PSU and full-size phones, all fitted nicely in a pilot-style case. One night I woke up in the room, which was at the railway side of the hotel so no outside light filtering in, pitch black, but the scary thing was I couldn't hear anything, utter silence. Took me a minute to realise I'd fallen asleep with the 'phones on and the music had run out at some point. The perils of drinking alone Syd
