Even though this isn't a big celebration like they do in Sweden, we thought it appropriate to take a nature walk to celebrate the Summer Solstice. My Daughter Sarah, with a friend searching the pond for tadpoles and snails.

This is the abandoned gravel pit just north of our place, which acts as a watering hole for all the local critters. The treeline at the far end of the pit is Canada.

What peaceful beautiful place you live in Joe. Makes me want to head over to the North Coast.

Thanks for all the kind words. We really do love it up here. The weather can be harsh and it takes forever to get anywhere, but the air is clean the animals are plenty, and the people are friendly.
