Can the green boards be used with the old type components to make the HD800 filter that's designed for the SMDs?
I'm guessing/hoping that although the layout appears a bit different that the circuit is the same.
I've just weakened and ordered a new pair of 800s and probably have all the old type components that
would let me get a board ready in advance.

Yes it can. There is no R1 though and therefor it cannot be used with the in-line Kameleon. For the Kameleon amps they can be used.
Do you need a higher gain ?
SMD boards are back in stock as of last Saturday..

Thanks Frans, good to know, though I thought I had given up buying 'phones it seems not.
I saw your note about the new stock and intend to order some 'just in case'.
I discovered that I had one black board left so I'm going to send for more SMD components.
That leaves me with two green boards which suit my Kameleons anyway, though the SMDs look neat.
Does the 800 need a higher gain? The 650s operate at about 9 or 10 O'clock with my desktop Kameleon.

The gain of the HD800 filter is good as it is. Just not when driven by a phone or something.

Just in case, is there a quick component change to try it on an iPhone?

Not a quick change alas. Needs to be re-calculated for a higher gain.

Not very likely I'd ever use it Frans, so no problem.
I've got quite a box of filters now!

One last query then I'll leave you in peace for another while.
When making up the SMD boards is it OK, if they fit the space, to use a similar value from the through hole type?
I have a full set of bits that I need for the new 800s ordered as there were a few that I didn't have even in through-hole.
Might have been tempted to try it if I'd only needed one or two bits.
