Hi Javier,
I'm interested to tie in your directory structure on your Foobar to my small AV server. What do I need? UPnP and AV server must be with a multimedia server programme too?
Also, does the FooMote for Android do hirez output as I'm looking for one Android media programme to play hirez files all the way to 192-24 and over in my S3. Does the FooMote do DSD and DSD iso too?

I don't understand what you want to do, is it playing on your S3 songs stored in your AV server (DNLA renderer) or use the S3 as a remote control for Foobar (Control point)?

Nope, Desktop or Laptop playing files thru Foobar from AV server. That's why I'm very interested in your Foobar directory structure as in your pictures. S3 using FooMote to play hirez from AV server or MicroSD card. Possible at 192-24? Able to control using S3 will be an added bonus. JRiver can do that thru Gizmo. Foobar?

To access the files in the server you just need to add the music containing folders in the mapped drives (*) to Foobar's "Music Folders" (File-ZPreferences->Media Libary->Music Folders), just hit the "add" button and point it to where the files are. I haven't tested it but maybe also stadard Microsoft network notation will also work (example: \\servername\shared folder name\) It looks like the S3 uses a Wolfson WM1811 CODEC all-in-one chip (includes 2W class D amp) which does 24/96 max so no 24/192. It has a spec of max SNR of 100dB and according to soomal.com ( soomal.com/doc/10100003447.htm) the real measured figures are much lower at 94.6dB SNR (15.7 ENOB) and 0.012% THD (13 ENOB) which are lower than standard red book so I don't think 24/96 would provide much of a difference. (*) Have you mapped the server's shared folders to local units on the desktop and laptop?

Now to find FooMote at Google Play, I think, to download. Free, right? I didn't map any NAS and DAS as they are solely for AV. So map them in Foobar and Jriver will do as I still can find them at the network tree if needed to do things to them.

There is a free LITE version of FooMote and also a paid one, look at their site or Google Play for more info.
The mapping I mentioned is done in the desktop or the laptop, it has no influence whatsoever on the AV server. It is just to make access quicker and also because some apps are not compatible with network paths and need a letter.
"DAS" AFAIK menas Direct Attached Storage so I can only be accessed by other computers through sharing by host, in this case the AV server.

In that case the router or the switch will be the sharing host, DAS have no OS themselves and if they do then they are not DAS but NAS.

Javier,
Got the directory tree as yours by folder structure in my Foobar. But how do we play the folder content. Click play on highlighted files and don't play them.
Thanks.

Have you tried double clicking? Yo can change the behaviour of double clicking in File->Preferences->Media Libraries->Album List->DOuble click action. Try selecting "Add to current playlist" and then check below that the checkbox named "Start playback when sending selection to playlist".

Any idea what does Create Autoplaylist does? Just a guess - does it just make up a random playlist from what you have on your system? The Ipod that looks like a watch face but square has this. If you tell it to 'fill' the Ipod, it creates a random collection for you.
