I haven't got the old one any more Jeremy. Frans has that. He measured it and found the odd FR. TBH, these do seem to have a lighter touch although the bass still has good attack.
Slightly more steely treble than the HD650 but not to the point of sibilance. I quite like them actually.

Sorry, meant back to back with other headphones you have. Just curious where you would put it when you can listen to each side by side.

I'll get a feel for it's sig first and then start experimenting. Mostly been alternating between the HD650 and the M50 when the wife puts the tv on!!
The most immediate difference is that the M50 has a stronger treble and a pretty strong bass attack. It isn't as 'spread out' sounding as the HD650 but then I guess that's to be expected since it's a closed headphone.
The sound is extremely good actually. I will compare it to the HD25. It's way above in comfort but I suspect that it has more clout in the bass and more zing at the top which suggests a 'u' shaped frequency response.
They are warm on the ears, but I think I'll be taking them to Tenerife with me. Very easy to live with and a nice listen.
