Spoke too soon. I may have to stay until Thursday. I can't turn work away and have been offered a day recording on the mainland, in Spain. So, got to find a slot for Tuesday to take off for Spain for one or two days and then look for a slot on either Wednesday or Thursday to the UK. Even better if I can get one in France as well on the way but then I'll be gone until at least the weekend. Oh the joys of being a nomad eh?

So Ian, we are supposed to feel sorry for you and your family for having your recuperation 'holiday' extended by a few days and a change of beach? - my heart bleeds for you - or at least it would if you'd only gone for a recuperation and relaxation break . It's probably going to give you problems though with another two sets of customs to get your bulk purchase of cheap headphones through - bound to make a dent in the anticipated profits I would have thought?

Definitely Dave. My fake dres might be a problem if they think they're real. I'd pay more in tax than I paid for them. I normally get left well alone. The worst one was Guernsey a couple of years ago, where we were held at the airport and everything was checked. They found ............... Tea.

Did you have to go through customs when you got there? ? I always thought the Canary were within the EU as a part of Spain.

Not so much customs Javier, but the 'walk of shame', where you take your baggage and walk through a restricted area while someone or a few people in uniforms look at you with a snooty face. I was stopped on the way in to Tenerife and the miserable faced man looked at my passport. No idea why but he looked quite unhappy with his work. They can check stuff randomly if they want, but it is actually rare. Anyone would think you have a rare stuffed cat with you or something. I don't think they call it customs but it's an area where you can't run if you're caught!!!! I'm old fashioned and call a spade a spade. In England, you're lucky. Two corridors to choose from. Red or green depending on whether you have anything to declare, like a refugee in your hand luggage.

There is free trade within the E.U. and no taxes can be charged within the E.M.U. BUT one is not allowed to cross borders with illegal things such as counterfeit stuff. Watches, clothing, I-stuff e.t.c. seem to be of particular interest.

Beats (and fakes) could be regarded more as a 'fashion statement' than as a serious headphone . I think customs are very aware of the fact there are so many fakes of them out there. As long as you walk the 'nothing to declare path' you'll be fine I reckon. Willing to bet they know little about AT or PortaPro fakes though.

I'd be extremely surprised if they were able to differentiate between a real and a fake Dr. Beat. Unless you carry them in their box and they "scream" I bought them here! out of the box and/or around the neck I'd say you'll be golden.

Imagine being done for smuggling a fake Beats headphone? Actually, there is something funny about them. The guys selling them buy them in bulk from China and have them delivered to the UK. Apparently, they get through customs there and then they're sent here to Tenerife. They pay 7 euros each for them!!!

Got a slot to fly today to Spain, so I can leave this afternoon. No internet connection where I'm staying. Hope to be back in UK on Wednesday or Thursday. So radio silence for a short while!

So radio silence for a short while! Probably as well - the authorities will not be sure when to expect your illicit cargo . Dave.

Flew back to Tenerife. Arrived. Arrested!!!!!
I have two of Lucy's dolls and the don't know what a handheld sat nav is.
Sitting at airport in my own private room. A rather nice man frisked me twice.
Allowed to use Internet for 15 minutes.
Bloody amazing eh? And the ***s won't even speak English!!
1.30pm so I have 6 hours before I'm on.
I can't believe how pig headed they are.

Why on eart did they stop you? they they suspect the sat nav was some kind of bomb? No, more likely they thought the dolls were stuffed with illicit substances - or they were pirate Dr Dre cans disguised as dolls . I wonder if Ian got to his gig on time? Dave
