Well that is odd .... I have money to spend so what shall I buy? If they don't put pounds, dinar I, roubles or what ever, I always assume 'American'. It seems that some think the whole world trades in dollars!!! I wish we could lose import tax from USA since there are some nice amps there that we can't get in UK and it seems that they've never heard of taking USA tax off for exports. We end up paying tax twice really and I've often wondered why we can't buy goods abroad duty free with import tax on the way in.

No need to wonder my friend, the establishment are rip-off merchants. But then, you've known that for some time

Resurrection shuffle.
Is this just for HI-Fi terms or any terms had are utter tosh?
If anything goes I want to had the term 110% as in "my men gave 110%" Impossible surely. Of course they might have improved their performance by 110%...especially if they had only gave a poorly 30% that last time. then it would be "my men gave 110% more than last time"

What if his man gave him 100% as in an amount of money he receieves from them on a specific time. At a given point the amount was raised by 10% (long due infaltion compensation perhaps?) and gave him 110%
In principle it was about hifi related non sensical terms.
For instance PRaT seemed very non sensical to me until someone mentioned that the speed of the recording seemed to slow down when the sound quality improved. So it would seem (no real evidence) that for very few people the perception of timing can vary with the amount of details their brain has to/wants to process.
Seems like non-sensical at first but I had a similar 'time changing' experience when I was young riding on (my brothers) moped. A dog suddenly jumped in front of me... did not even see it till I drove into it (dog appeared allright, ran away scared).
Anyway .... this happened very quickly but while falling time slowed down VERY much and I, very slowly' was slung over the streer and very slowly saw the pavement coming. I heard my Judo teacher clearly saying how to brake my fall. Did this too, had every time to put myself in the right position, made a nice roll and stood up afterwards.
The dogs owner didn't understand. He saw me smack to the ground and stand up again... When he saw I was O.K. he went after his dog and came back saying the dog was O.K.
Remembering this I suspect the whole PRaT thing may well be happening to them. The only thing it sortof doesn't explain is how people say better gear has better prat.
For all I know the guy that felt time slowed down was just tired ? And for guys talking about PRaT actually a higher SQ may need less processing power of the brain.
The tired bit and sound perception is something I experienced when young too. Driving my motorbike from the Switserland home in one go (very few stops along the way). By the time I reached the Dutch border I knew it was only half an hour drive. Was way past midnight and the usual stop (McDonalds) was already closed so dicided to drive home (almost no traffic there)
Dog tired but wanted to go home I drove along. At one point I heard the revs of the motorbike slow down, as if you are loosing speed. Checked the speedometer and tachy and they were at the exact same position yet clearly heard the frequency go down.
Very weird, young and stupidly drove on home. Made it O.K. and when home fell asleep on my bed, didn't even undress.
So when tired the perception of frequency (Pace Rythm and Timing) may well vary (slow down) under conditions.

Just came across this on a certain large headphone forum and thought it was so good I had to share. He's talking about a Schiit Audio Bifrost DAC. An excellent piece of kit I'm sure. But . . . "6) The attack and decay are dogmatically vigilant."Dogmatically Vigilant?? I invite everyone to put on their poncy-est, lets-talk-a-load-of-hifi-bollocks head, and try to work out what the f**k that means?? P.S. English is his native language.

Dogmatically: asserting opinions in a dictatorial manner; opinionated. Vigilant: mean being on the lookout especially for opportunity So the guy is opinionated and on the lookout for attack and decay ? I'd rather listen to the music though. While googeling around for the meaning I stumbled on this: it's those lower-chakra elements of virile charge and exuberant physicality which the Druid V caters to with special readiness.

Lol I was scared to click that Druid link. The description could have been virtually anything.

On that same site the tech spec for the Zu Dominance lists it's dynamic range as "titanic". Good name for a ship.
