Hi, If you have managed to find us and all is well with the site, please feel free to introduce yourself. This site is linked directly to DIY Audio Heaven where we have the incredible knowledge of Solderdude posted for us to access and my Music area. I'm a musician and I have a very wide taste in music. I'm Rabbit; part of the trio who started DIYAH. The trio is Solderdude, Rabbit (me) and Javier. Solderdude - DIY electronics Javier - Computers Rabbit - Music We felt that we should post articles on DIYAH and have a forum split away so that the reference stuff stays intact as it is but also giving others a chance to comment on an open forum .... here!! If you post something really useful, we'll direct it to DIYAH and perhaps supply some kind of answer too!! Please have a bit of fun on here, but keep it clean and no personal attacks on others. Posts like that will just mysteriously go missing with no explanations provided!! Feel free to come in yourself!!!

By way of introduction I'm Syd, I'm not a musician and I'm told I have absolutely no taste in music, but what do friends and family know? I really like the articles being in a separate area, makes things a lot easier as the site gets busier and expands

Hi Syd, having the info separate will keep the place tidy and then we can make a mess here!
It's something that's really noticeable on many sites, so that if you want to look up a headphone or whatever, it can be difficult as the site grows. This way, it's controlled in size and easily found.
I"ll start making links to here soon so people can eaily jump from one to the other.
Glad you got in here in the end. I was getting worried!!

Hey Dave. Got in in the end as well. I was battling with it - passwords/security etc. I was the only member talking to myself!!
Glad you got in.
Well the info is all in one place now so it's easily revisited and the chat stuff will be here so everything is neat and tidy.
I reckon some oldies may appear soon .....
Welcome Dave.

Hi, I am Rob who was directed here by the one and only DaveK. Dave and I know each other from AOS and RG fora. I will be moving to an all headphone based system somtime this year and so this forum looks to be just what I need.
I have made several C-Moy amps, a valve based h/p amp from a pcb obtained through Elektor magazine, a chip-amp based h/p amp and I hope to finally get around to building one based on the "Diamante" discrete op-amp boards created by Russ White of Twisted Pear (bought several years ago in a grp buy on Diayaudio).
I have modded the Superlux HD681's and was lucky enough to win another pair in a comp on RG a few years ago, I have modded a pair of iGrado's (to remove the hideously uncomfortable headband!) and modded a pair of Skytronic phones that were the subject of a thread on RG. I have to say that at about £10.99 (from memory) these phones have a sonic signature very close to my Senn HD595's that were about £110!
I have a couple of pairs of Goldring phones that were absolute bargains and have a sort of Sennheiser sound about them.
So, that's me for now.
Rob.

I have made several C-Moy amps, I have modded a pair of iGrado's (to remove the hideously uncomfortable headband!) Hi Rob, Welcome. I wonder whether you could write something about the mods that you did to the iGrados? Say on Word and we'll put it on to the site. Even better with pics. Publish and be damned eh? I found the back of the head band quite uncomfortable as well although I didn't mind the sound of them at all. I stopped using them because they hurt the top of my ears. I may be getting my hands on another CMoy type headphone sometime soon - the O2. I have a Neco amp that is very good and a Zigis amp that was extremely cheap. I sometimes use a Banzai Morph as well. We all tend to go through these amps like water for tiny changes in sound don't we, but since NWavguy made such claims about his amp, I must admit that curiosity has got the better of me, so I'm sniffing around for one to compare with the others that I have. You may well find DIYAH a really useful resource. Solderdude is a grand master to say the least. If you're looking for an amazing headphone - follow his mods for the T40. I have one and it is truly superb.

Hi, I am Jerry. Into hi-fi, AV and headphones (Hifiman HE-400). Dabbled a bit in the DIY side of things but don't claim any more than rudimentary knowledge. Mainly listen to prog rock and think some of the new stuff, for example Steven Wilson and Big Big Train is excellent. Good luck to the new forum, you will be added to my favourites!

Hi Jerry,
Big Big Train are a great prog band. Featured big time recently on 'The European Perpesctive' with the 'Amazing Wilf'. (Dave Elliott) I love his work and he featured their new album, I think it was, just recently.
If you're into Prog Rock, 'The European Perspective' is absolutely brilliant.
Hope you had a good birthday. You're the same age as me and I'm dreading the next one. Feeling a bit like a Rolling Stone!!
Welcome to DIYAH

Hi I am Claus I know most of you guys from other forums and have missed you very much since I left the "other place".. Looking forward to see how this turns out. I am a headphone nerd and have been so for about 10 years. I got my own headphone forum as well, but that is in danish, so maybe not the most relevant for members here, anyway google says it is good to post links everytime there is a possebilty to do so hoved-fi.dkI wil try to make it a habbit to look in regulary, but I got much to do on hoved-fi I also own a webshop which take some time and a regular job, so forgive me if I do not reply at once if asked.. I like the way you do not make 25 subforums to begin with, it could be an idea to make a couple of more than there is now, it will save you the work moving threads later.. If I can be of any help, let me know..

Great to see you again, Claus. All the reviews, both gear and music will be fixed on DIYAH leaving this place free for chat. If anyone writes a good epistle, we'll post it onto the info site. So, we can have fun on here and the serious reviews are at diyaudioheaven.wordpress.comI have found it difficult to cope with the language on Hoved-fi; even with a translator. Some of the translations are hilarious. I did try translating into Danish as well via the translator, but you saw the results.....
