You're really welcome. Small at the moment but only been open (although planned for a little while) since Friday. This forum is linked to an info site at diyaudioheaven.wordpress.com/about/ which has taken a little while to get together, but at least all the info stays in one place and so builds up as a resource rather than one great long sausage of a forum. So we can mess up here and the info stays intact. Any really good info posts, we can put on there as well. Admin are Frans, Javier and myself. Ian

I really get a lot from the hobby and so must qualify as a complete lunatic.
The funny things is that I don't know exactly why. Even when we go away as a family, I sometimes record what happens on a Roland location recorder and make a radio programme for my daughter to listen to rather than watch a home movie!!!
How sad is that? High resolution audio files with us lot all speaking on it!!

Yep, that's pretty sad (We don't seem to have the customary devil symbol, this'll have to do) Seriously though, those recordings will be priceless as times roll by. The only audio recording I have is a few minutes of my younger son as a baby (about 34 years ago)laughing at the dog barking, sounds like nothing said that way but every once in a while its brilliant to have a listen, make plenty, you can't roll back the clock and do them again. Hello!Hi Ian, Hi Frans, Hi Dave, Hi Claus, Hi Mick, Hi Alan, Hi Ron, Hi everyone else I've forgotten, Jeff here. Zero technical knowledge, but love music. Listen to music 70/30 headphones/speakers. Head rig is Shanling CDT-100C into C.A. Dacmagic into M.F. X-10D into M.F. X-can V2. Various cans - HD600, DT150, DT990, the usual suspects. Guilty pleasure :- a bit of a wireless headphone fan Speaker rig is Shanling CDT-100c into Shanling STP-80 into B &W CDM7-NT. Like the way this forum looks and runs and especially like the people in it P.S. - scored a slightly subjectivist 7

Hi Jeff, You're really welcome. Seems funny having this 'introduce yourself' thing when we all know each other but soon enough, people will start to appear from other places and I don't want them to feel left out and that we're all part of a big gang!! Been going just over a week but I must say, I have been really chuffed with what I've seen. So far so good. Does anybody have Christian's email? I have been concerned about him for a long time.

Sorry about my quick exit from the grotto left on your thread, but thought more people would see my reasons for doing so there, before it was deleted by the dictator. Regards. Mick. ;D ;D No problem Mick.

Mo here. I got here via a referral from BMF. Looking forward to the conversation.
I mod T50RP and I have a couple of electronic builds under my belt. Mostly, though, I try to enjoy music whenever possible using whatever equipment is at hand. I think I'd fall into the objectivist camp (in the audio sense, not the Rand-ian sense).
I love the smell of rosin in the morning.

Welcome Mo !
If you have any 'more or less' documented DIY builds and are willing to share please feel free to do so.

I love the smell of rosin in the morning. What do you play then Mo? Violin, Viola, Cello or bass? I'm a piano/keyboard/vocal person with an oboe/soprano sax/congas/bongos and Djembe for good luck. ie: whatever the job dictates!! Currently stuck out in the sticks, working but going home tomorrow to my own T40's modded by Solderdude. I've really missed them!!

Hi there you crazy lot.
Marc here, the beer drinking Belgian. I'm not sure in which camp I belong, but i'm a polite bloke above all, so it'll be OK I guess.
Very tempted to try the Fostex ortho, but too many projects going on in life at the moment.
Anyway, nice to see all the lost soles gathered here again.
Cheers, Marc
