This is the model before the DT1350 and clearly inferior in all ways. Its mechanical fit isn’t great for many, the headphones and cable is VERY microphonic even the headband is microphonic. The sound is coloured and not ‘accurate’ with a lot of bass but alas also a lot of honky mids. Highs are a bit coarse sounding. Not really a recommended headphone…. certainly not worth the high price. How does it measure ?

Had some time to tinker with it. Playing around with felt in front of the driver did not lead to the desired results. The biggest 'problem' of the T50P (and DT1350) are the honky mids which shows itself as the hump between 200Hz and 700Hz. This can be addressed with a simple limited high pass filter. The 'peak' between 6kHz and 12kHz and the peaky behaviour make the highs a bit 'accentuated' and coarse. That can be lowered with the same peak filter as the HD681, and because the impedance is the same similar values can be used. results below: red = stock, green = filtered results for both drivers after modification: bye bye honky mids.. sounds much better now but getting good seal and thus good lows is still a pain. I plan to use the newer pads but will take a while before they arrive. It sounds better but still is no stellar headphone.
