I am loving the way that DIYAH is developing and the idea that MUSIC is an important part of hifi. We are so lucky having a real expert with Solderdude working on here with ideas for new amps and adapting headphones as well as the digital knowledge from Javier and his building of the new amps for members as well.
We are also very lucky in that there are some music experts around who have plenty to say about music and make some fantastic suggestions as to their own preferences and interesting stuff that's around.
So this area is for people to be able to use the good old internet and post a concert. ie; a collection of pieces that they really go for and get into some semblance of a balanced show, so that people can actually come into this and play a concert that has been formed by members.
Once the concert has been formed, then I'll lock it up so that it is a contained 'entity' and can be visited as a showcase for all kinds of music. That means any kind of music that you would like to showcase.
It takes a little bit of effort to compile, but once we get a few in there, we'll have a great reference place for everyone to visit. I know that my eyes and ears have been opened by Drumdrym and Bluesboy and many thanks to them both for the wonderful effort that they have made, compiling these pieces. They don't get the feedback that they deserve, but I can assure them both that I have gone through every recommendation and it has been an enormous pleasure.
These guys are capable of forming really balanced performances based around themes, since they do have a lot of knowledge so those kinds of things will appear here and we'll feed back in the Music Hutch. Just use the same title when creating the thread so we will all know what it is referring to.
These kinds of posts will take some thought and preparation, but will perhaps bring something really refreshing to a hifi forum. It also takes some creativity to get it balanced!!
Performances could be based around one particular artist (I guess Kate Bush will turn up soon ........) or around a theme or a style. Or even how a style has developed. Classical, Jazz, Rock, World Music, Traditional Music ..... whatever.
Cheers
Ian
