These are just out, so little is known.
What I DO know is the DTX300P (similar price/target range) and although there are some big fans of these things I tried them a few times and found them 'Beyer' unworthy so to speak.
These weren't better than other similar priced headphones and did not have 'hifi qualities' about them.
I would recommend the older Creative Aurvana Live!, PX200-II or DT231-Pro instead or perhaps the HD239 series (which are open).
When open isn't a problem the PortaPro and PX100(II) are good options.
The DT1350 is very hard to recommend as they need EQ to sound good and getting a good seal isn't easy but essential.
There is a lot of production spread so a second hand one may not be the better sounding one.
That being said the DT1350 (with EQ) is THE best portable phone I ever heard but NOT the most comfortable one.
It is also one of those headphones that some really like and dislike.
Quite expensive as well.
Forget about the cheaper T50P they are nothing like the DT1350 (aside from the looks at first glance)
The portable player stuff..
IF you are into i-crap stuff and are used to the GUI it may be very hard to 'step down' to cheaper players.
Should you like to go cheaper than FiiO X1, X3 and (expensive) X5 are good players that can drive most headphones directly.
The X1 and X5 have a proper EQ, the X3 doesn't (only old fashioned tone control)
I own the X3 and am pleased with the SQ I would buy the X1 at this point in time instead (the X3 was the only player at that time)
The other cheap option is Sandisk (Sansa) but these are small players and only sound loud enough on efficient headphones.
They really shine with a portable amp though.
I own the Fuzev2 and quite enjoy it WITH a portable amp.
So the question is budget and what you want out of it (ease of use or sound quality)
If you go for SQ spend more on the headphones (audition what you can) and less on the player (FiiO X1, Sansa + portable amp).
The Sansa Clip ZIP or Fuze+ would be preferred over the clip sport.
When you prefer comfort a more expensive player and some flashy headphones might be the best bet (a bit like a young'uns choice).
