Beardfish produced a fantastic album called "Destined Solitaire' and this album is more similar to their older albums than the two latest ones. Beardfish are a great band. You'll enjoy this one if you like the sound of the Hammond organ and typical Prog guitar riffs with all the musical drama that they attach to their work.
Bass lines are terrific as is the keyboardlaying. There is lots of story-telling in the lyrics which bring a deeper meaning to the music.
Beardfish is a group with a catalogue of really good albums, and I think that this one may be their best. It contains plenty of hooks, humour and sarcasm, it's all there.
What I also like about this album is the recording quality. The bass lines thunder away down below without pushing other sounds out of the way and the music has this lovely 'open' quality where there is space left to allow sounds to float in and out of the mix. I love the soaring Hammond organ which in places suddenly lets rip with some lovely solo playing. Also some beautiful doubling with the singer.
This is the kind of album you can return to and hear it all anew again. There's lots of content contained inside the music so that you can focus on different things each time that you listen to it.
I think it's just been released and really is worth a listen since imo, this is Beardfish at their best so far.
