This album was released today. I like The Tangent and their music is a combo of jazz and rock type ideas with a singer who sounds very much British. Guy Manning used to play with the Tangent and I like his song writing as well.
This album seems more rock based and back to their earlier style. (If you know them) strange time signatures and some 'free' moments with jazz type interjections and before you know it, back to riffs.
It has refernces to past rock people too. ELP and at one point, they play a repeating riff and the singer says .... 'Careful with that Sax' ...... Which is remiscent of 'Careful with that Axe Eugene' by Pink Floyd in Ummagumma.
Problem is if you have no knowledge of early rock, you'd have no idea what it was.
Nice album.
