Actually Sergey, that graph makes it look better than a Grado. You're better off with them!! My current favourites are really the hd600 and 650 for their smoothness. The 600 giving a slightly lighter sound. The k712 which is kind of smooth like the Senns with deep bass and a more strident top. The K702 which is less bassy and sharper up top than k712 but has great stereo width. Fostex TH900 which can give serious bass rumble and good stereo width and inner clarity with complex mixes. So the Grados now, for me are a step backwards tbh.

Ok Simon. Home next weekend. The wonders of PayPal. You get notifications in the middle of nowhere!!
Would you like a full length lead on it? I can put hd600 lead on it for you if you'd prefer.
I'll pack it so that its properly protected.
Can you send the address on a pm here for me?
Cheers
Ian

I'll take a punt on these please Ian (sorry couldn't resist. Some very good deals for DIYAH members - it was a real struggle to resist the HD650 so was glad when Simon bagged it!)

Actually, I put it there with Simon in mind. I wasn't actually going to sell it if I'm honest. Love the hd650, but I have two.
Fact is that I have headphones hidden all over the place, originally bought for students so I'm just trying to pass them on at the prices I actually paid!! If you buy 30, you can sometimes get good educational deals.
Always wondered why same couldn't apply to forums, but the won't do it. Mass drop is the closest in idea I guess!!
I might put my Momentum 1.0 out now. Just recently got v2.0 in Barcelona and it's stunning. (So is Barcelona)

Great. Glad to hear that, Simon. I was a bit concerned about the cable not being long enough. I used it sitting in the garden with my x5 but I have two of them in any case!!
Hope you like their sound.

Ian, how do you like the D600? I have the older D2000, which I like except for the somewhat recessed mids...

I have a D2000 as well. I think the D2000 is better but the D600 has this really big bass. It's over lively down there, but very impressive sounding. I really like it for films because it gives the impression that a sub woofer is connected.
It's not a bad headphone at all, but the D2000 is perhaps a bit more hi fi.
Interestingly, I often go between the D2000 and TH900. Lots of similarity and shows just what a good buy the D2000 was. I wish Denon would return to the old D series. Now, I'd be more tempted by the D5000 or D7000.
I like the D600 though. It's a big, loose fitting headphone with very soft pads. Warm, comfy sound with a ton of bass kick!

And they're STILL using that daft one nut cone to hold the cups. That's the worst aspect of all of them IMO. All it would need is a locknut under the fitting.
