A great British prog rock band. Understated and I love their work a lot. Start with the DVD. It's a great insight and overview of their work along with an accompanying CD.
The dvd has interviews and footage of how the band formed and how they rehearse. It's a lovely insight into the band.
Three albums -
Curious Things - a previous incarnation of the band. Early stuff. Quite varied, but good.
Tinyfish - The first (recognised) band album.
The Big Red Spark - A concept album that to me, sounds like a mixture of 'The Wall' in mood and feel and 'War of the Worlds' in content. A machine that collects dreams and goes out of control......
Try them - something different and new!!

Only one issue that I have a problem with as an old boy - they aren't full time musicians so they don't rely on their income to make a living. This means that they are in the position to give away their music (and they have) for nothing.
This can make things quite difficult for people that want to have a career with a model like this in place for the distribution of their music.
It seems more and more, that new bands need to give their music away as downloads before they can be taken seriously and people start to buy their CD's. Then of course, people share their files but the band remain 'amateur' in that they can't break into the serious market.
In the old days of A&R, you needed to get to the record companies and hope that they would support and promote you knowing that the bulk of the sales money would go to them, but now, modern musicians seem to be accepting that it is better to give the music away and hope that future sales will develop from any interest created.
I don't know what's worse!!!
