I thought I'd leave it to you Ian. This album is much awaited but I fear from what I've heard so far that it's a pale shadow of their former work. We'll see.

Listened to it and I'll be honest. I'm left a bit underwhelmed.
There's nothing wrong with the sound or production but I get the feeling that YELLO are going through the motions with some old cliches returning, some old samples and even a revamping of Electrified which they called Electrified II unsurprisingly.
Familiar sounds and even rhythms. More of the same thing, so I feel a bit underwhelmed.
Perhaps the old format has become a bit stale? To me, they're no longer the same 'innovative' band with Dieter using his same, growly voice and singing those short phrases that he does. Like one bar phrases with a break before the next one bar phrase that sits over a riff.
It just feels old and worn out to me. Perhaps YELLO has had its day. I much preferred Boris' solo album which had a lot more innovation and new ideas going on. Dieter''s was just a bit off the wall for me.
So, I won't be getting a hi res copy of this TBH.

I feared as much Ian. It must be nigh on impossible to be groundbreaking forty years into a music career though, particularly when only one of the two is actually making the music. I'll still buy this album though because of loyalty I guess and I'm a completist. I have everything else after all. I'll wait 'til it drops below the €20 it's going for today though. I'd never spend that on one piece of plastic.
