I've done a few performances in the local which is quite a lively little country pub.
Now I'm in the process of recreating a pub of my own in the garden!! We inherited a big double garage which is extremely solid when we bought this house. Our original intention was to convert it into a studio for me to work from but thinking about security and noise in a secluded area as this is felt a bit iffy. The cost was going to be very high and since I retired prematurely, it no longer felt like a priority to me.
So I decided that I'd turn it into my local. It also has a fridge and a tumble dryer in it, plus shelves for bottles, table tennis, air hockey and darts. I might also put some kind of sound system in there as well.
When I get the enthusiasm (maybe next week) It will have a new roof so it will look a bit smarter from the outside.
So I've been working on my darts technique. It's bloody hard!!! I can't get my throw to be consistent and have been really concentrating on getting the stance, grip and throw right. Plus playing around with dart weight.....
It drives you mad, and I still can't get a consistent throw. The more that you concentrate on your technique, the harder it is!!! Got arm ache from throwing so much now as well!!
I have a lot of respect for those guys who consistently score 180.......

Your own pub? Are things that bad? Most families drive you to drink, yours can just open the back door and point you in the right direction ps. never been to a pub with a tumble dryer in it! Will yours be one of these white goods themed pubs?

Well, you see ...... laundry by day, pub by night!!!
Actually, the local is about 100 yards away as well.
Got the Roland active speakers in there now so music's up and running. Heating is in. I will have to paint the inside walls, but now I have to do the roof. It's not leaking but I just want to pretty it up.
TV would be nice.......
I have to sort out my dart playing though!!

Yes, probably an idea to become proficient with the darts before installing a tv!!!
Sounds like a fun project and it'll be good to have your own space to play some tunes, have a few brews and chuck a few darts.

Just to jog my memory before I attack....... Last year, I had to get up on the roof in a series of rain storms and get it skinned quickly which is what is there now. It doesn't leak at all but that will become the secondary roof since the new one will go over the top. My darts is getting slightly better!!!!! Don't know what to do with the concrete base on the right. It used to be a shed but I had that one taken away and put a much bigger one up behind my 'pub' under the oak tree. So for now, I put a bench and table there and store wood for the chiminea there. I might also box in the oil tank one day. There's no gas here.

I am an awesome chucker of arrows. Just sayin'. Nice shed by the way. I don't have a shed as such but I'll maybe post a pic tomorrow once I tidy it up a bit.

I'm working on my darts. So frustrating since I can't get consistency at all. I get brilliant flashes and then the next dart is way off!
I have a double shed behind that building. That's an ex double garage. The doors are on the right, where the blue car is. It's quite a big roof since the garage is something like 24X16 ft so if I decide to roof it, it will take some time.
I have the felt and shingles ready for a sunny day if the mood is willing ....
There's a pit in there which I might use as a mini cellar!!
Also want to put lights in.

Everybody knows that beer helps yer darts That's not a bad sized space at all for your boozer and a lot more solidly built than I was expecting. You're going to do this properly and have a sign outside am I right??

I'm on a tea break ......
Sun came out so it's now or never.
Reboarded over the first skin that you see up there. Felt over the board and now the shingles are going up. Long job with a ton of nails.
You do have a point ..... a sign .......
'Headphone Haven'. 'Impedance Place'. 'The Darthole'. 'The Hifiman Boozer'. 'Senny House'. 'The Sub Bass Ment'. 'Treble's Peak'. 'The Pad'. 'Jack's Plug'. 'The Curly Lead'. 'Garage 1218'.
I'll take a pic when it's done.

And it's done!!! Just put a new light fitting in as well. Finished just in the nick of time. About thirty minutes later now and it's pouring with rain. Next job will be the windows and door.

That's a first class job Ian, it will soon be better than my Tiki Bar Thinking about a name - how about "Rabbit's Retreat"? I am going to do you a carving for your pub when I get some spare time, something personal to you!

Keeping with that theme 'The Rabbit Hole'? Or 'The Rabbit & Kameleon'.
