"...To it's feet". She has a great voice, but terrible enunciation.

Different tubes, I heard: take to the world to agree, I thought, couldn't quite make it out, the second line I assumed was feet but could not hear the F. The word in between is mountain...I am liking these 6f8g's. Gotta listen to the video with all of my tubes now that I can pinpoint an instance for comparison.

Agree with marveltone. Beautiful voice but her enunciation could do with a little work. The recording seems a little distorted too so perhaps that's not helping either.
The bit I most struggled with myself was "promise we'll". Played it back umpteen times and on some listens I thought she clearly said "you'll" and other times "we'll".
Will make a good test track for sure!

Lyrics:
You're broken down and tired Of living life on a merry go round And you can't find the fighter But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out And move mountains We gonna walk it out And move mountains
And I'll rise up I'll rise like the day I'll rise up I'll rise unafraid I'll rise up And I'll do it a thousand times again And I'll rise up High like the waves I'll rise up In spite of the ache I'll rise up And I'll do it a thousands times again For you For you For you For you
When the silence isn't quiet And it feels like it's getting hard to breathe And I know you feel like dying But I promise we'll take the world to its feet And move mountains We'll take it to its feet And move mountains
And I'll rise up I'll rise like the day I'll rise up I'll rise unafraid I'll rise up And I'll do it a thousand times again For you For you For you For you
All we need, all we need is hope And for that we have each other And for that we have each other We will rise We will rise We'll rise, oh oh We'll rise
I'll rise up Rise like the day I'll rise up In spite of the ache I will rise a thousands times again And we'll rise up Rise like the waves We'll rise up In spite of the ache We'll rise up And we'll do it a thousands times again For you oh oh oh oh oh For you oh oh oh oh oh For you oh oh oh oh oh For you

I'm considering buying either the Ember or Solstice. I'm pretty familiar with the technical differences, but can anyone comment on how these amps sound compared to each other? For instance, is one of them more neutral sounding, or does one have relatively rolled off bass or treble, or other differences in the character of the sound?

I only have the Ember. I suspect the sound signature of those two is very similar as the are both SS in the output stage and tube in the input stage.
In the Ember you have more power and you can bypass the input caps, which affects a bit the sound (and makes the volpot a bit noisier).
If the solstice matches your power requirements and you don't need the preamp output, perhaps the solstice will give you all you need from the Ember...
I am sure Jeremy or Frans have better experiences to share.

is one of them more neutral sounding, or does one have relatively rolled off bass or treble, or other differences in the character of the sound? Both have the same frequency extension so no roll-off in the audible range... That is with the same tube. Some tubes will roll-off in the audible range. The only big difference is the plate voltage which is higher in the Ember. This means the Solstice may be slightly more 'tuby' at higher output levels.

Shout-out to all Ember users who use a Beyerdynamic T1. What are your preferred settings; what is your favorite tube?
Cheers

It is mostly large-size component, it should be quite ok. Good luck, the amp is great!

Thanks! I think the challenge will be the number of resistors and getting the right ones to the right place.
And the SMD part; that will be my first time doing SMD

"Your item departed a transfer airport in CHANGI, SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE on February 5, 2017 at 9:48 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination."
ARGH so close but yet so far!
PS: While there are a few airports in Singapore, there is only one main airport for such goods and passengers, which is Changi Airport (the airport that the Project Ember left)
