I have two things coming which might be interesting.
One is a Bluetooth receiver that fits directly into your headphone. So you take out the lead on the headphone and replace it with this Bluetooth lead which frees you up. I think this one might have aptx too so it might sound ok. This one will fit the msr7 and the m100 I think. Also the Sony msr1. So it will make them all truly mobile hopefully.
Also, following my playing around with the impressive little earpieces from Soundpeats, I will be having a look at the Soundmagic e10bt. I have an e10 somewhere here and I remember that it sounded pretty good. It had a raised bass but nice for portable use. It tickled me that the ones I have are called SoundPeats so that they look like SoundBeats but actually, once I cut the retaining earclips off, they fit nicely and sound pretty good. Considering they're just £15, they're a good buy. The Soundmagic retails, I think at £59 so it's in a different price bracket. No aptx though.
I am quite interested in Bluetooth gear, even though there is a drop in sound quality, just for the convenience. Nice for pottering around but also safer in holiday places and better in rainy weather. Makes your listening even more fun and doesn't restrict you to those hi res files at home on a big headphone and amp!!

How did the receiver work out?

The receiver was too insensitive to be useful. The noise level went up and I was getting drop out so it got dumped. It was really cheap in any case. The Soundmagic BT is very nice. I like it. It has a largish battery that some don't like, which you can either leave hanging or clip it to your shirt. Sounds great actually.
If someone came up with a decent receiver, it would be nice to be able to connect any headphone to it though. Even a Senn hd600 or something like that. I use headphones a lot in the garden and often leave the player indoors.

Real fun to see where technology is going with wireless devices. I tend to not wear headphones outside, as I like to hear what critters are around, where they are, and what they're doing... Life on the edge of humanity being what it is.
However... A good noise cancelling wireless set when doing tractor work could be nice, seeing as wires could get snagged on overhanging brush, when mowing trails.

I still enjoy my Sony nc a great deal Joe. The nc works really well and would be ideal for knocking out the tractor. Sound is good as well. I love the fact that they can be used wireless as well as wired too.
There are some real uses for wireless or Bluetooth connection where you don't want wires. I use the Sony when cutting the lawn!!

I used to have a Nokia BH-111 knockoff, wonder if it still works... To be usable, it'd need a better battery, though.

I'm guessing that they're designed for phones? Is Nokia still going?
Bluetooth certainly has its uses. I'm quite surprised at the quality of my two JVC Bluetooth speakers and they're just so convenient to use. Either singly or two as a stereo pair.
It's lovely to take them out into the garden and sit listening to podcasts or whatever. Gives you a lot of freedom.

Yah, a handsfree but one that lets you connect your own headphones Nokia came back, but the endeavour with M$ left it more like a curiosity on the phone markets nowadays... Let's see what future brings.

Great pity. They made some terrific phones. Mind you they also made some duff ones. I remember one where the screen used to fade out. Then you pressed it and it came back on again. It was a known fault. Mind you most of them were pretty good to be honest.
I once dropped one off a cliff. When I got to the bottom to pick it up the dam thing was still working but the screen was badly damaged. I had insurance but they wouldn't cough up unless it was totally broken. So I had to climb the cliff again and do a retake in order to get a real break!

Muahaha Yeah, I know they had very good phones... I worked in the assembly line for a while there Saw the decline back then, and the sure sign was moving production abroad.

Great pity because at one time, they really were THE phone to get. My parents only ever used one mobile - the old 3210. Battery life was amazing. I had many of them since I had a terrible habit of losing the blasted things because I moved around so much with touring work. I reckon some hotel cleaners made money on me!!! In fact it was a long running joke with one of the bands that I performed with and they regularly asked audiences to check the floor for a missing phone as a joke!!
Once, they really embarrassed me on stage ....the bloody vocalist made a joke about me having 4 phones because I kept losing them and on stage ...... the bugger got his phone out and rang me. It was a Nokia and did that Nokia call that goes diddle dee doo doddle dee dee dum. (The well known Nokia one) in the U.K., that call sound was used by a comedian who used to shout down it in public places ....'Allo'. Then everyone would stare at him.
When mine went off, the whole audience shouted, 'ALLO'. So embarrassing. It was in my pocket and not turned off.
My wife still has an unlocked, tiny little Nokia that still works fine and we take it with us when we go abroad because it's so small.
They were a great company.

I’m not too worried by any drop in quality if I’m honest since I just see it as a trade off for the extra portability. Wonderful when mowing the lawn!!!

Just placed an order for an AK XB10: us.astellnkern.com/products/astell-kern-ak-xb10Reviews and owner impressions seem pretty positive so decided to take a punt. Also supports APTX HD (my V20 does too) and has both 2.5mm balanced and 3.5mm SE outputs. Primarily I'll likely use it with the P82 for some late night TV viewing without the need to trail wires. But might also pick up a balanced cable for my IEMs too to see how much of an improvement, if any, the balanced output offers. And of course compare APTX vs APTX HD to see if I can discern any difference. Had hoped I could get a shorter 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to use with the P82 but struggling to find one.....Might just have to stick with the stock cable or perhaps rig something together using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter and then run a short 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable to the AK. It's coming slow post from abroad so most likely won't receive it for a couple of weeks or so but will post some impressions when it tips up.

Oh my, both of the items have arrived and boy they are small. Both the PCB's fit on top of Nokia BL-5CB battery... Pardon the messy table The box they're resting is similar size as Superlux's can.
