Upgraded as usual, and then all kinds of lagging problems after I installed the recent IOS to my IPad.
Some examples ....
Booting up an internet site and being faced with a blank page which never changed. Sites locking and not loading. Keyboard typing literally TEN seconds after I typed a letter!!
In most cases, I restarted by clearing the cache and rebooting but the keyboard lag remained, making it impossible for me to type messages on here for instance.
And oh yes ....Apple were SO helpful ....... not.
In the end, I think I found an answer. Go into settings and reset. On the face of it, it looks exactly the same as reboot but something else has been cleared because the keyboard is now keeping up with me.
You lose all your passwords this way though.
Ever since I had those Classics with Itunes, I’ve grown to really not like Apple stuff. It’s flashy and all that, but everything that they implement seems very often to be invasive of privacy, or they don’t allow decent freedom of use with their music and films for instance or some bloody stupid bug is introduced with a new IOS.
Also, you get tied in to their system and escaping means losing your music and films because they can’t be played on anything else. At least Amazon allow you to use their music files on other device!
So I’ve grown to really dislike Apple stuff; especially given most of its overblown prices.

Makes me glad that my iPhone is a v4 and can't be upgraded anymore. Actually, I still hate it - all smartphones in general.
I was initially happy plugging along with iTunes back when I had a iClassic. But after a few updates iTunes became more of a storefront than music manager so it was time to Rockbox the Classic and move on. Don't get me wrong, I really don't see the appeal with Rockbox in general, but it was nice to break free from the closed infrastructure of Apple and switch to a far better system - Musicbee in my case

I agree. They tie you into their infrastructure and it can be difficult to get away with all the material that you could potentially lose. If you’ve bought the music, then in my opinion, it should be yours and not controlled by Apple, who take it away from you if you dare change systems.
Can you imagine ...... LP’s that only play on a Linn Sondek? CD’s that can only be played on a Philips player?
That’s in effect what Apple do!

Hello sorry for interfering, but I also had an Apple device: IPhone 7 Plus 256 GB & Apple Music etc. But now I have switched to the enemy side: Huawei P30 Lite(1400 DKR) and I am sorry to say that I am more pleased with this phone, than I ever was with my overpriced IPhone. Regards spider.

I went over to the other ‘A’ as well. Android works better for my uses I think. Mind you, there are still things that niggle. Haptic feedback on my phone disappeared somewhere along the update line. (Vibration on key touch)
Fixed it, but had to fully reset the phone.

Computers and (software) problems. An odd couple, but one that seems to belong together.
Looks like I should perhaps have looked for a profession other than ICT systems and network technician. There are moments when I like to be without a computer. In the last few years, I've become a bit more aware of that.
All joking aside. I actually like computers. In my opinion, however, there have been a few general developments in recent years that are going in the wrong direction. It's a very fast-changing world with software that is written just as quickly (and incorrectly). A little slower with more quality would be more tolerable. At least if the general direction were right, which is unfortunately also a problem (keyword: cloud computing).
