Simon, I thought you might like to know that Rega have wrote a book all about its history.
Link to Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/Vibration-Measuring-Machine-Rega/dp/1782807810/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1534096036&sr=8-1&keywords=rega+bookDescription of the book: Rega Research Ltd, is a UK hi-fi manufacturer who has been making complete hi-fi systems in the UK since 1973. Rega has become known around the world for it's turntable designs based on sound engineering ideals. This innovative new book opens with an in-depth history of the company from the birth of it's founder, Roy Gandy, to the present day, detailing the key events and the creation of new products along the way. The book also unravels Roy Gandy's thesis on hi-fi turntable engineering, examining every aspect of the engineering and structure of the component which has always been close to Roy's heart. Finally, the book concludes allowing central figures from the company to tell, in their own words, their personal tales of commitment to the Rega ideals. This long-awaited book is essential reading for anyone with an interest in music reproduction, written with the home enthusiast, the professional manufacturer, and the hi-fi journalist in mind.

just trialing a little REL T-zero sub with my dali speakers. bit fiddly to set up but think i've cracked it. sound is very pleasing, has certainly warmed up the overall sound which was my aim. whether its better than just swapping out my dali's for the dynaudio m10 i cant be sure, but it is a cheaper option. on the downside, i have the feeling i will continue to tinker the settings going forward and never really be sure that i have it spot on. so far no complaints from downstairs . as its on a carpeted wooden floor i have sat it on a rather heavy marble slab which seems to work well, for now.

I had a Rel sub, years ago. The most common thing with them is setting them too loud. I used to set it so it was barely audible on normal stuff but kicked in on low stuff only. So very often, you wouldn’t know that a sub was attached.
I must admit, I like subs, because they really do seem to extend the bottom range of speakers effectively; at least the good ones like Rel do. Cheap, nasty ones just permanently rumble with undefined bass.
They were frowned on in the early days with many purists really slating them. Claims of poor cross over point, muddling up frequencies, standing wave problems and basically wrecking the original sound of your speakers, but I still liked them.
Have you listened to male speech to check for mid and upper bass prominence? I found that some subs, when set too high would affect speech quite a lot.
It’s very tempting to have them set high!

Got to agree with Ian Simon, it is very easy to set them too loud. Inital cross over point should be about -3db below the lowest frequency of your speakers then you fine tune from there.
I have 2 MJ Acoustics Subs and for me to get them intregrated took me some time listening and adjusting.
On most tracks you should not even notice they are there, but when you get a track that has real sub bass then you should hear and feel them.
Rel do some set up videos which may help you?

have just bagged a set of used Dynaudio M10's off ebay, so fingers crossed they are ok. i may still add a T-zero sub down the line as i was quite impressed with it. would probably go for a new one though. not this year though.

had the M10's for a couple of nights now. was impressed when i had them on home trial. taking a chance on ebay has paid off once again as they are like new and saved £100 on buying new. cant imagine i'll be wanting a sub with these. i love it when a plan comes together.

been on a bit of a spending spree of late. the RP3 deck is now replaced by a Rega P8 with Ania-pro cart. also upgraded phonostage to Rega Aria. my old Marantz amp is replaced by Rega Elex and just so my digital side didnt feel left out, my Pro-ject DS2 dac is replaced by Chord Qutest. vinyl now sounds amazing. as far as the dac upgrade, not much difference on the coax input, but the usb implementation on the Chord is far superior to the Pro-ject.
