Hello, I'm new here. More than 40 years of speaker diying. But since a few years I'm interested in headphones area. I own or have owned some priced ones (Senn HD800, Kennerton ODIN, Hifiman HE500, Audeze LCD2 fazor...). I've modified my HD800 in a "real" S mod, not the SuperDupont mod which doesn't fully act like the original Senn resonator. I have also completely modified my Audioquest Nighthawk... Anyway, I launch this thread about the Verum1, my prefered headphone because it sounds and measures so right that in my eyes (ears) it IS the more neutral of all HP I heard in my life. And all this for only 300€! It's only shortcoming is it's perceived average resolution if compared to some high-end HP which mainly lie in enhancing parts of their frequency responses...

Welcome to the forum.
You could have a look at compensation for your measurement setup. I am quite certain the Verum1 does not have the treble sloping 10dB downwards. Which test fixture are you using ? Do you have ' well known' not modified headphones around you could measure ?
The biggest downside is the low resistance (measured around 6 ohm)

Hi solderdude, I use a DIY measurement setup, a shoe box with a layer of felt; I know I lose treble and even high-mid/low-treble but in that way comparisons between the HP I measure are OK for me. Here are overlays of 4 original HPs I measured (shifted spl to make them more visible):

Ah... explains a lot. Yes, probably reasonable to use comparative. A HD600 would give you a nice reference. From that and other measurements you can calculate the needed compensation.

... From that and other measurements you can calculate the needed compensation. OK but I don't know how include the compensation in the fr response using ARTA. I ONLY use my calibrated mic and the compensated response...

I use REW. It's free and you can put in compensation. I assume ARTA also allows this but don't use it so also have no idea how.

OK. I don't want to learn using a new soft like REW; however I will investigate...

OK. I don't want to learn using a new soft like REW; however I will investigate... Bingo! I have modified my .mic using notepad and it does work: before/after compensation: K702 and Verum1 Thanks Sorderdude for the compensation idea!
