I'm looking to buy new closed cans for home use. I would be using them only at home and directly from motherboard output, which is Realtek ALC1220. According to source I found alc1220 can do up to 600Ω.
Where I live I can get some Superlux models: HD662 evo for 40€ HD681 for 34€ I could also get returned (outlet) Beyerdynamic models dt770 pro (250Ω), dt990 pro (250Ω) for about 80-90e.
I would pref to get closed cans, since I have pair of opens now (sennheiser hd599). I like to have closed headphones available to block outside noise and graphics card fan noise. They would be used to listen music from piano music to metal and for gaming.
Feel free to advice and to recommend other budget headphones too.

Hi, based on your music taste you might be looking for the same characteristics I do. You should read through my thread below yours (Help a noob...). If you buy the 681 EVO please report back, I'm interested.

HD681 and DT990 are not closed so you will hear fan noises nearby.
Closed headphones will attenuate noises but not totally block them. You will need IEMs or the better ANC headphones for that.
When you want quality (longevity) the DT770 may be your best bet. There are tonal differences between 32, 80 and 250 ohm DT770.
The HD662 (with some modifications) sounds fine but the little 'dongle' for the cable might break after months of intensive usage.

Yes that's right only HD662evo and dt770 of those are actually closed. Thanks I'll check your thread Atesz.
I used to have superlux closed cans and found the noise reducing effect quite significant compared to my open Sennheisers. There is always some noise coming outside when I keep the window open.
I can only get the DT770 250Ω model cheap atm. Cans would last for years, wouldn't likely be able to brake it in my use. But bit worried about how harsh the treble is.

With the stock 662 EVO treble is fine for my unrefined ears. Will need to remove the felt though, my big ears get sore after a couple hours. Still working up the courage.
Edit: removed the felt, after which I put the foam back. A bit more room for my ears (which is very welcome after using this headphone for hours on end). Elevated cymbals which is also welcome. In fact until now I copied this FR with an equaliser, now only the bass boost remains. Pink Floyd sounds lovely.
