Hello All,
I met Frans after buying a Project Sunrise II Amp a couple of months ago. I love it. Rolling tubes has shown me it performs as well and, with some tubes, better than my Dacmini.
I enjoy modding and measuring planar magnetic headphones. I have many Fostex T50/40/20RP's, vintage Fostex, and vintage Amfiton TDS headphones. I use my LCD2 and stock Fostex 'phones for reference.
Home systems include 5.1 B&W speaker systems with McIntosh and Rotel amps/pre-amps that have seen little use over the past year. Most of free time is spent modding headphones.
I enjoy hang gliding, soap making, and home-brewing beer.
I scored 1 on the Objective-Subjective Test...no surprise, there! @mo: I am a fan of "The Amazing Randi."
I like this new site. Well done, guys.
Cheers,
Keith

Thanks for the welcome to all. I was curious enough to take Frans' test. ;D Scored 3 in an unusual way: For 8 and 10 I'm in doubt and added 0.5. My brain can't fetch the idea of flac and WAV sounding different and I haven't heard differences myself. But I will keep trying to identify differences because I've seen too many reports. Other than that I've got an almost religic belief that timing is of the utmost importance and that our brain is possibly capable of discerning beyond measurable things when it comes to timing. Having said that and scoring a mere '3', I must be schizophrenic. I certainly fit in with the crazy people now I'll hush and seek cover. Cheers, Marc

Thanks, Mick. Yes, I love nothing more than launching my hang glider from the top of a mountain and soaring with raptors as my wing man. My hobbies are inter-related. My wife and I were driving down from Haleakala 12 years ago and saw 4 guys setting up their hang gliders. We stopped to watch, set out a blanket, and cracked open a beer. 30 minutes later, they launched, one right after another, and "sailed" out over the ocean. I did not know the term at that time, but they "surfed" the ridge soaring updraft created by the ocean winds deflecting off the mountain and lost no altitude. Mesmerized, I turned to my wife, pointed at the hang gliders, and said something primitive akin to, "Me want!" Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly" immediately came to mind and I knew this would be my next activity. We descended from Haleakala and stopped at a gift shop near town. They made and sold soap. We watched for a bit and I told my wife I thought this would be fun to try. We have not bought commercial soap in 12 years. So, there you have it....beer, hang gliding, music, and soap...all coalescing at the same moment in time during a vacation on Maui. BTW, I never break the 8 hour "bottle to throttle" rule Keit Hello All, I met Frans after buying a Project Sunrise II Amp a couple of months ago. I love it. What do you play then Mo? Violin, Viola, Cello or bass? I'm a piano/keyboard/vocal person with an oboe/soprano sax/congas/bongos and Djembe for good luck. Nope, although I have a couple of ukuleles and a nice acoustic guitar at hand. My rosin's the stuff you find in the core of a line of solder. (I just looked up rosin on Wikipedia. It turns out the rosin used on stringed-instrument bows is the same stuff used in soldering. Who'd a thunk it?)

I'm too shy to introduce myself as I'm too "famous" in some forums in a good way. You want to know me more. Email me or Facebook. Stop touting for business Chong!! Just phone. Just call me. Welcome Simon. Keep going - you'll get there in the end with that amp!!!

Hello Chaps! I've been invited here by Dave, an old mate from a couple of other forums, so I thought I'd pop in. Been on a bit of a forum sabbatical for quite a while but feel like it's time to start getting back into it. Hope you don't mind too much! Cheers.....

Hi Mike. Welcome to the forum. I do like Dave. He's a good old sort. Always puts himself down but a really nice guy. Are you a 'poshie' right by the golf course? Errington Park Estate? We don't mind you being here at all. We're small but perfectly formed ......

Hi again Mike, Welcome from me too and thanks for taking a peek at us from the inside . Despite Ian 'rabbiting' on about my age and personality he's not such a bad guy really and, like the other Admins and members, has declared this a friendly and aggro free area so you'll fit in well here. Hope you stay around and enjoy the place even though you're not a particular 'can' listener as I recall. Cheers, (and stop me disappearing down into your 'spam' folder ). Dave.
