That is typical Cornwall, Dave. We spent two weeks down near Plymouth a few years ago before we flew off to Samos. It rained solid for two weeks. It was so bad, I drove all the way back to Surrey and left the wife there overnight so I could pick up a couple of laptops to give us something to do. We went back last Summer and it did it again. Two weeks of rain again and we were in the middle of nowhere. This year, we're going abroad. Can't stand it. Funnily enough, here in Norwich today, it's been really beautiful. Warmish and sunny. Like Spring is here!! Spent the day wandering around the centre with a tee shirt and a sleeveless birdwatcher's top!! (Loads of pockets you see) Cornwall can get some wicked rain storms. Sorry to see you've got it now.

You're right Dave, I blew your picture up and that IS the sea out there!!! Where are you? Seriously, up here in Norwich we've had two sunny days on the trot!! I visited Southwold pier today. It was sunny alright, but the wind off the sea was ........... That's a drive south into Suffolk after I bought a new drum from a factory outlet. Went into a cafe at the start of the pier and the charge the earth for tea!!! And it was dishwater. You're not in St Ives are you?

Beautiful area, Dave. Such a pity about the damned weather. Cornwall can be awful for rain since it can be SO persistent. Lovely narrow roads and some really good shops. I bought an owl clock from there made up from bits of watches. The shop was just where you are and may well still be there. I hope it clears up for you. The problem is the land is so narrow with sea on both sides and it can be horrific. The other problem I'm afraid are the noisy buggers drinking at night down on the front and the seagulls WILL attack. I was thumped by a big 'un and it took my pastie. Luckily it was a curry one and it nearly choked the bird before it dropped it into the sea. If you sit looking at the sea (near the lifeboat) they wait on the buildings facing the sea. They are also quite big devils!!!!

This is where I am going in the summer: www.hpb.co.uk/bond/location/default.aspx?STWe have been in the Holiday Property Bond for 25 years and had lots of nice hols with them. You need a car though as most of their places are out of the way.

We regularly used to stay in a place called The Sail Loft near the other end of the harbour on the third floor. This enabled us to look down on the 'Grockles' having their fish. chips, pasties and ice creams nicked by dive bombing seagulls. - quite entertaining . Dave.

Blimey, what a small world!! I'm going to be stuck here so I need a car to get away from the monster dolphin at the bottom of the pool.

Blimey Dave..... I came down in a car from Norwich today and the weather!!!
It was sunny and warm up there and my girl was playing in field with a friend of hers in a tee shirt. It was 14.5 degrees up there when we left.
As we came down, it went grey and then the rain and the temperature dropped to 9 degrees.
My front room was just 12 degrees when we got in. I sat down with a coat on.
So if you went home today, it hopefully got nicer for you as you headed north!!
