Nice review dude. I have only experienced RF interference from my cell phone when using certain high gain 12AX7 tubes with the Ember. Moving the amp off my desk solved that issue though. I have never experienced anything like that with my Polaris.

Great review! One note, on our current production V1.2 Polaris amplifiers, we added in a pair of resistors on the gain setting. The pop is now gone when changing gain settings from low to high so they can be changed in real time to a/b better  |

Ember does not have actual gain options, just input attenuation options that function like gain. So the only amp that did this was Polaris when going from low gain to say high gain - would equal an annoying thump or pop.

I think my time has come to an end with the brilliant Polaris  My wife has got fed up of seeing it on top of my SM6 and asked me what I was doing with it? Reluctantly I said I will see if any other member/s would like a listen and post it on to the next lucky chap. So is there anybody out there that wants to listen to a really cool and brilliant sounding HP/Pre amp, PM me your details and if everything is OK with Frans I will get it in the post to you ASAP. Frans, If nobody wants a listen - what do you want me to do with it? Send it back to you? |

It can take Frans a while to answer. He is on holidays and usually doesn't take any Internet connected stuff with him.
