Hi Javier
A while back you were able to give me a copy of how you had Foobar set up.
I have changed a few things as time has moved on and now I want to copy my setup to another person.
I've tried Googling but obviously wasn't asking the right question.
Would you mind explaining the process again?
Syd

Hi Syd,
First you need to install the same plugins on both machines, spcially make sure all "eye candy" related ones are on the destination installation.
Then on the "source" PC go to Preferences -> Display-> Defaul User Inteface and on the right pane you will see a button named "Export Theme". Click it and save the configuration file to a USB drive or save it to a local folder and send it by email. On the "destination" PC follow the same route but this time click on "Import Theme" to load the previously saved file et voilĂ .

Hi Syd, I'd be interested in viewing your foobar set-up, what I previously had on foobar was rubbish. I've tried various players but came back to foobar reinstalled it and now have a blank canvas. If you don't mind me having the same set-up I'd be grateful. Regards, Alan

Can we make this a foobar theme thread then? All who have a theme that's worthy of the name could post their setup with a list of UI plugins here. I'd like to try them all to see what suits me best and then create my own. Just a thought though.
Cheers, Marc

My layout as you know was originally Javier's. I experimented and sacrificed the lower bits to make room for a search feature, which I find very useful. Alan, and anyone else, you're welcome to my version - just let me know your email address and I'll follow Javier's instructions I have just moved to a 16.9 monitor so it looks a bit elongated... Thought the cover might brighten the evening Syd

Thank you Javier! Juke sent me his and got me started and I just started checking on some modifications such as VU meters etc that I can jazz it up with. Your links will help tremendously...and, of course, I will try out your theme also.

My layout is pretty basic and hasn't changed much since quite a while back: Javier, I installed your theme but instead of the colorful visualization you have below the play list, I get a distorted version of the old analog vu meters. I have played with this for a few hours but can't get it exactly as you have it. Musical Spectrum is working just fine but am not sure how to get the other visualization that you have. I went to the Russian site and downloaded a similar visualization but I can't get that to work either. I have the vumeter and the bin files I downloaded from the russian forum installed in both the components and user-components folders but I don't have any options that look like the visualization you have or the ones I downloaded from the Russian forum. After installing the .dll, the only thing I have done to try and change the visualization was right-click the visualization and "change ui element". The visualization is titled vumeter but its just two solid bars that display peaks. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The VU-Meter pictures (they are .bin files) should be saved to the "C:\Users\ yourusername\AppData\Roaming\foobar2000\user-components\foo_vis_vumeter" folder if you use Vista or Windows 7, for XP instead of "Users" the 1st level folder name is "Users and settings". The VU-Mts I use are attached to this message. Once copied, right click the bar and select "StageLine VU 800 SW" To configure the Musical Spectrum properly (close to 20-20KHz) you may copy these settings (right click on it to access options) Attachments:foo_vis_vumeter.zip (710.86 KB)

I will give it a shot a bit later today. I didn't mention previously but I am using a portable installation. I expect the folder locations will be a bit different but there is a user-components folder. I installed your theme so I believe the Musical Spectrum may be set like this. It does appear to be working but I will check the settings.

What I was trying to point out is that if you want the Muical Spectrum to reflect the complete audio band (ie 20 to 20,000Hz), or as close as possible, you need to change the "Notes" boxes from deafult to "E0" and "D#10". I also removed some legends and lines for a "cleaner" look.
