I hear differences on speaker cable, Derek. Well, at least I did once when I went from thick copper to sigble strand silver Mission cable. It made the sound worse imo!! So I do hear it, but I haven't yet on headphones if I'm honest.
I have no clue why that should be other than speakers impedance being much lower than headphone speakers which might be causing interaction with the cable perhaps on speakers. So I've avoided anything expensive for headphones, but not so much for speakers.

Both look good to me Simon. I couldn't get at the feedback on my Ipad. Are they criticising the seller or the lead? The lead looks great. the worst one complains about cable connectors, but it could be another cable than the lcd2 version, cannot view the specific item.

They look good on the photo. You can always return if they're defective can't you? If you buy USA, it's a bloody long way to be sending it back.

The listing says they use Neutrik / Rean XLR connectors so should be decent quality. Feedback seems fine and the only other negative in the last 12 months relate to shipping costs & delivery times to europe.
The US cable looks stupidly short at only 36 inches. That's very short. Factor in customs charges and a Royal Mail handling fee if importing too and it's suddenly quite an expensive cable.

I feel for you actually. It's awful when things go bad like that. I also think the company is so full of itself they shoukd sort it out for you.
Leads are normally pretty safe though.

I don't hear any difference with banana plugs Simon It's just neater. I remember a long time ago getting gold plated connectors and I guess that they don't corrode or go bad so easily, but the cable still does at the commection.
Generally, you strip the cable, shove it into the end of the connector and then tighten a little screw on the side down onto the cable. That's where it corrodes instead!!
If it does corrode, a vinegar dip will fix the cable though, or restrip it.

Personally, I think the QED flat pins are better than the crinkled type. Eventually, those crinkles might flatten making minimal contact, whereas a good old fashioned flat pin connects all around.
I had the flat types but no difference in sound to wrapping o to binding posts tbh.

i think the ones you mention, Ian only go up to 3.25mm cable diameter. i was intending to overkill the cable size, the xt40 is 4mm diameter.
