Priced at 'mates rates'; I've done my best to offer these at about 20% less than I'd reasonably & fully expect from selling through Ebay.
All in as-new condition with original boxes, plus delivery costs to be agreed:
Musical Fidelity V-DACii - £55 Musical Fidelity V-PSUii - £80 Musical Fidelity V-90 DAC (compatible with V-PSUii) - £90 Creek OBH-22 passive 'pre-amp', remote controlled - £140 Spendor A5 loudspeakers, cherry veneer - £750
And with a couple of marks on top edge of facia, no original box:
Musical Fidelity A3.2 power amp, 130+130W > 8Ohms - £320 (overhauled & with upgraded caps, by JS Audio at a cost of £450)
Seriously, put together the V-Dac, Creek OBH-22, A3.2, and the wonderful A5s by Spendor and you'd have a killer system for less than £1300 plus your choice of sources.
I will deliver the power amp if the distance from Oswestry/Shrewsbury area is reasonable, say c.100 miles, which would include Birmingham, Stoke, Manchester West & Liverpool with the buyer covering fuel cost (I get 8 miles to the litre of petrol)? With notice, could deliver to, or on the way to, central southern UK as we make trips down south every month or two.
I will deliver the Spendors (same terms as above) if they fit in my MINI - haven't checked that yet.

Some very good deals there Derek!
I know gadgie is / was looking for his first DAC so will PM him with a heads up - either MF DACs would be good options I think (have a V90-DAC myself). If he's not interested in the V90-DAC I may even take a punt as I quite fancy a second DAC for use in the living room / taking down to the in-laws.

The Spendor A5's are excellent speakers. I'm surprised you're selling them!!

The Spendor A5's are excellent speakers. I'm surprised you're selling them!! Only selling beacause I've been fortunate enough to buy the Spendor D7 - a fabulous speaker; only downside is they're £3500 :-( The A5s are truly excellent. Been superceded by the A5R which means dealers are still offering remaining stocks of the A5, new, at about £1000 (were £1700) which has ruined the 2nd hand prices for the A5. C'est la vie.

I considered them when they came out. I think they were around £1,500 and sounded really good. Then I went to buy an xcan v8 from a private dealer who put some Proac Responses on for me and the wife forced me ........ Only thing is both Spendors and Proacs need a substantial room to breathe in. I remember that the Spendors needed quite an amp to drive them properly as well.

Up for sale too is a Cambridge Azur DacMagic - I will definitley keep either the V-DACii, V-90 DAC (easily the best of the three) or the DacMagic for a bedside system] along with my V-CANii which I havn't put up for sale. DacMagic is offered at £95 plus shipping; these seem to keep their value well on Ebay.
As new, boxed etc.

Only thing is both Spendors and Proacs need a substantial room to breathe in. I remember that the Spendors needed quite an amp to drive them properly as well. The A5s don't need a large room as such. But for best performance they should be well out from the room corners (e.g. use the Cardas positioning method) so harder to do properly in smaller rooms. The new D7 is not so fussy; plenty of reports of people with D7s close to the wall, all down to its particular port loading system. D7s aslo just under 90dB for 1 W sensitivity so no monster amp required. Did some measurements yesterday, D7s (in my room) flat to just under 30Hz !! Nice. There may be enough in my kitty to get some another pair of 'phones but, in spite of reading plenty of posts here and elsewhere, I don't know where to start. Maybe I could spend up to £300. I'd put a sense of 'space' along with an extended bass response (extended not boosted!) as most important. I like my Grado SR60/80s, for example, but wish the bass went further down; it does seem to drop of all of a sudden. Not a problem at their price but wouldn't want that if I spent more. Would prefer open-backed to. How good are the cheaper Stax? Indeed, how MUCH are the cheaper Stax?! Have lusted after Stax since Hi-Fi shows back in the 70s.

I had a Stax headphone way back. I didn't particularly care for the bass response if I'm honest.
Some good deals on Senn hd650. One that I really like the bass on is the Fostex th900 but they're so expensive. Again, some good deals on th600, its relative.
AKG K712 goes low and is smooth sounding too. I found that strange in an AKG headphone. Plus you can change the cable since it plugs in. I use that quite a lot. (Or use a Bluetooth headphone cos I'm lazy)
I agree, the Grados just don't go down low enough. Punchy, but no real substance.

I'll see if I can get a listen somewhere. Too much money to risk buying unheard I think.

AKG stockists are few and far between so the 'phones purchase is on hold for now. I am definitely going to next Feb's Hi-Fi show at the Bristol Marriott (26th - 28th) so I'll visit with a purchase in mind... www.bristolshow.co.ukAlthough AKG aren't going to be there, Audeze are on the exhibitor's list so I hope to try the 'budget' EL8s. Getting good reviews I see. I could maybe stretch that far IF they're good enough. Also Fostex, Sennheiser and Musical Fidelity to take a listen at. Of course my main reason for going is to say 'hi' to the guys from Spendor. Their chief designer Terry Miles will be there, as usual, and he always has time for his loyal Spendor fans... like me. Also exhibiting will be Benchmark. Now that I'm a fully paid up member of the Benchmark club I'll call in' pay my respects and see how they are showing off their amazing electronics. Probably they will be using their little stand mount speakers, not that that will interest me too much. Another brand I won't ignore is Ophidian. Not well known but a couple of years back I heard an early version of their Minimo speaker. It was REALLY tiny... front baffle 18 x 12 cm approx.... but such a huge sound. Shame they are about £750 or I'd have them for my bedroom system but I just have to take a look.

Thought I would 'bump' this post as the items are still available. I will soon put them on Ebay now that Christmas is out of the way and January's pay day will be on the horizon.
On the 'new headphone' topic I am currently still enjoying my SR60 and SR80 with the SR 80 getting the most use right now. Apart from their lack of really deep bass the balance overall I find very satisfying. So anything I consider buying will have be outstanding.
