They've sold 5,207 now. That's a lot of headphones to make......
I hope QC is ok; they are Hifiman headphones!!!

I'm having second thoughts on this one now....having ordered the Superlux HD662 Evo already(and Franz saying the HD662 Evo sounded better or equal to the HE-300), I might drop the Hifiman and get the Fostex T50RP MK3 instead. Having the Beyer T90 already and loving it as my only open headphone, I'm not sure the HE-350 will get much use....but then again...it'a only $99 plus shipping and taxes....arrgh...can't decide.

The only reason I'm staying with it is the price and the fact that I can try out the Hifiman QC. If they can maintain QC at this price then they're OK. I was a bit concerned about buying one of the higher models due to complaints.
I'm looking forward to hearing perhaps a little more 'space' in the sound. Apparently, they are quite 'spacey' which isn't a particular strength of the Superlux actually.
It's just another 'flavour' of headphone for me. Build will be better than the Superlux I think. The Superlux is dead cheap and the Hifiman isn't really that much but reading stuff on HF would have you believe that these are expensive and have to be seriously considered etc!!! It's a $99 dollar headphone. I've given away more expensive ones!!!!

Yeah, might stick with it at that price. Especially since those few chosen ones who have tried it have had good luck with pad-rolling on them. I will buy the t50rp later anyway...or I will probably have it before The HE-350 will arrive.

The drop has been extended again so there must be a lot of demand for them. I hope that doesn't mean that they rush the making of them.

I stayed with the He-350 drop and ordered the Fostex T50rp's as well yesterday. They have actually not extended the Hifiman-drops, but started a new one, so the money for the first drops have been deducted from our accounts now. The shipping date for the new drops will be the same as for the first one.

Pushing the boat out? Quite different in sound. One that I use a lot is the AKG K553 which came from Massdrop. It's a slightly warmed up K550 and actually goes quite deep into the bass with no emphasis at all, so many think of it as being bass light. I find that good recordings sound excellent on them. I do wonder whether the Hifiman might be kind of similar, except open. That would be nice, since I like to keep matching sounds together!!

I think the whole range has had issues in the past but according to some sources, QC has been improved. It has been one thing that turned me off them originally. Even driver matching in some cases but apparently it's all in the past now.

I think that there are a lot of happy he6 listeners out there.

I love my HE6's so not likely to sell them and I would recommend them to anyone, though I use a Kameleon after my ifi Micro for perfection, to my ears. I know Mick was very pleased with his too. I hope you manage to get a pair. Syd

cheers Syd not holding my breath, but who knows wonder why they stopped making them? I didn't know until your post! It's possible the look of them, the frame that lets the 'speakers' swivel is very cheap looking and overall they don't have the cosmetics of other £1100 or so 'phones. I did notice a month or two back they were being advertised at c£950, must have been the run-out. Syd

I wonder whether that's where the rumours about build come from? Gradually, they're getting replaced by something else ..
