I've got to say it .....
The new HF look is more like What Hi Fi Mag. What on earth has he done to it? It's full of adverts and I can find my subscriptions button any more.
I don't like it if I'm honest. Too commercial. Following the nonsense over the Trinity stuff, I might be off I think.

Layout not withstanding, the rollout was totally botched.
With the considerable amount of changes - took me forever to find the subs too - they really should have ran a beta site to let users get used to the new way of life, instead of just dumping it on us without warning.
Recently, the Musicbee website did a major update and they ran a beta for several months so that all the bugs could be squashed and folks could get used to things

Where is the sub button? Anyone know?

Technically there isn't a subs button anymore Look at "account alerts" (just above the log in/out button). Click it and on the next screen you'll see a watched threads/forums under "Your Account". Seems this is what passes for subscriptions these days. On most of my "watched threads" the first unread post was just the first post regardless if I read it or not. Not exactly the most intuitive methodology

Well I think the ads I was getting when it first went live were likely designed to get my other half filing for divorce! Started off with half page ads for aRusssian girlfriend dating site and then went onto something called Chinese Lady Wife....gone back to boring audio stuff now. I do miss the eye candy but at least the neck strain from constantly looking over my shoulder has subsided There is something wrong when a forum looks more like a flashing billboard than....well, a forum. With a good ad blocker it's not a bad browsing experience though. AV Forums went over to the same platform a couple of years back and the reception was about the same. Don't think they had a public beta either but the launch didn't seem quite so bad although quite a bit of functionality was lost. but over time it has improved quite a bit. Just a shame that the membership over the years has changed as there are a lot more plonkers on there now!!

There certainly are, Mark. I get very tired of smart Alecs who turn out to be high school kids.
Also I think some people get a kick out of trying to be superior, but that's not just confined to HF.
I don't really like the barrage of adverts on the front page though tbh.

The ad selection is rather suspect. I can understand audio related stuff, but swimwear and mail order brides?? (maybe somebody is going with the audiophiles being a sad loner stereotype)
There have been improvements coming online pretty quick - it is easier to get to your subs now. But yeah, you almost need an adblocker to balance the ad to content ratio

I saw a tiny link appeared to 'Watched Threads'. It's not consistent on every page though.
At the moment, the way it works kind of stops me wanting to use it. The old look allowed me to access subscribed threads very efficiently, where this isn't as good. Search isn't as good either because it searches the whole site, not just threads or sections.
I think that posters have dropped in numbers too since the change. People have lost their subscriptions and so haven't been able to access them as easily so comments have fallen back.
The Tinity thread has dulled to a standstill. Before, it was way more active. Just the odd comment about how 'wonderful' they are. Fit problems. Not a great deal more.
It looks pretty, but I'm not sure that I like it really.
I think users identify with the 'look and feel' of forums and making drastic changes kind of damages that 'feel' for many people.
It was bad enough when Proboards decided to upgrade here!!
I'm beginning to wonder how long before HF starts up a subscription fee!!!! They could creep it in by getting people to pay if they don't want to see adverts and then finally become a 'paying club'....... omg.

All you see here, Ian is the result of so called RAPID techonogy having been applied , loading A lot of java script based libraries consuming a lot of traffic and a strangely and sadly controversial results , totally unreadable code . It's a modern web development

Not good at all Sergey. I think people may well wander away as a result. I'm much less inclined to use it now because it's just not as efficient as the old look.

I totally agree with you Ian. Your favourite site loses consistance appearance as the result of modern techologies having been applied. That's just ridiculous ! Why to use half nuded girls ? To attract youngers or to what .... (sorry for grammar) ?

Exactly, there's no point at all. HF has kind of lost its bite and full of kids perhaps? It's not what it was. I can understand you perfectly. Good grief, there's no way I could reply in Russian!! ну есть один способ (I guess)

Viewing on my phone and the Russians are back!! The heading is "dating Russians in your way". Not sure if that is an instruction but I don't think a Russian has ever got in my way, so odds of me getting much dating action are slim. Looks like 'er indoors is stuck with me Come to think about it if head-fi members are sad loners who only like headphones and glamour models, why has nobody thought of combining the two? Stick a pair of HE-1000 on a scantily clad lady and they'd sell like proverbial hotcakes! This is all part of Jude's evil masterplan, mark my words. But yeah...it's all a bit distasteful really.
