You know, I can decide between the entertaining 'v' shape of the Portapro or the warm fat Senn. Very difficult.
They both show the same kind of detail and for me, on the face of it, the Portapro has a more flashy sound but the mids of the Senn are terrific as well with no sibilance up top.
Going between them quickly makes you pick out the Portapro because it's instantly more flashy sounding but stay with each for a while and there's not a great deal to choose between them.
If someone asked me what to buy if the choice was these two, I'm not sure what I'd say really!!

I once had both the PX100, KSC35, KSC75 and PortaPro as well as SportaPro at the same time.
Kept the KSC35 and KSC75 and sold the rest. The choice between the PX100 and PortaPro was almost a tie for me.
The PX100 had slightly less clarity. The Koss was slightly more forward/open to me. The PX100 was slightly warmer as a result and sounded slightly less 'vivid'.
Comfort was slightly in the advantage of the PortaPro for me because it presses on the temple and much less on the ears what I found somewhat more comfortable. Sound quality of both is dependent on how they sit on the ear. As the earlobes of each individual differs I recommend to buy BOTH and sell (or return) the one you like the least. It may well be the PortaPro works best on person A but the PX100 works best on person B
Have never heard the PX100-II which may be a better headphone and maybe would have me prefer that one.
Still... I sold both again and kept the KSC75 and KSC35. For me the earhooks of the KSC75 work better when moving around then on ear headphones and get a more constant bass 'seal'. The KSC35 earhooks are not pleasant after a while so when one of the drivers of the 3 pairs of KSC75 I had gave up the ghost I clicked these on the KSC35 making it more comfortable and better adjustable in pressure on the ear as you can bend the hooks.

It is a difficult one, Frans.
Let alone the fairly high possibility of a fake Portapro.
I'm using the Senn my II but not certain I prefer it to mkI. It's a bit thicker sounding I think. Bit like the change from hd600 to 650.
Single lead to the Senn is nicer and it folds better. The Portapro band pulls my hair out. Those pressure pads don't work so well for me.
Been going back and forth today and can't really say which I prefer. I just like both for different reasons. The Portapro is also selling at widely varied prices on Amazon which is a bit weird. Currently from £27 to £49 I think it was.
I liked the KSC75 sound but hated the hooks. Fine on a Portapro band though.
It's one of the most common questions asked of me locally when they decide that they want a better sound from their crappy earbuds.
I'm guessing that the px100 might be 'technically' more refined, but the Portapro is more entertaining. I had a Sportapro once as well. It seemed ok as well.
Frans, I see on another forum that some of the guys are punching holes in the Portapro pads. Did you try this one? I would imagine the treble would go singing off even more. They also tried covering a couple of vents so I'm guessing that might take the bass hump down too.
I might punch some holes into the Senn pads actually to let more top through.

My brother had a PortaPro. I tried it a few times, but disliked the temple pads. The pressure on my temples gave me headaches, while holding the pads away from my ears, thereby killing what little bass I heard from them. If they were mine, I would have cut off the temple pads.
I honestly didn't understand the appeal.

I like the sound and use the pads on the second click to relieve that temple pressure while keeping the pads slightly less pressured. For me, the band can be problematic, catching my hair. It literally pulls it out.
So for me, it would be nice if the pads were set in a different frame.
They sound good for a cheapie but do emphasise the bass and treble. That's why so many like them I guess.
By comparison, the Senn is less 'humpy' sounding at the extremes. For me, the Portapro treble is also a little bit rough around the edges.

They are running a bit behind on that site ... I did the 'quarter mod' and use my KSC75 this way. Also the 'Kramer mod' which really only works when you also use pads a little thicker than the original Koss pads. Speaking of pads ... they decay even faster than the yellow HD424 pads from yesteryear. One would think that the foam cuts some of the treble and removing it would cure that. I found out that remonving (and possibly also punching holes) makes the pads compress more and is what changes the sound because the driver is closer to the ear. The reason I did the quarter mod was to prevent small hairs sticking in that foam and hitting the membrane. This causes a 'rattle' in the bass which sounds like a faulty driver but is just hairs sticking inwards. The experiments are scattered over 3 models shown here: diyaudioheaven.wordpress.com/headphones/measurements/koss/Nowadays I hardly use them anymore. What I found great is that (to me) they sound quite 'believable' and my ears adjust to the sound really quick. They appear to sound almost flawless, only missing deep bass. That is till you compare them directly. Then other flaws show as well. By themselves I found them great...

There something that keep refrain me from buying one of these two. The PortaPro temple pads seem horrible to me, as i suffer enough migraine headache without, and i have no need to lose more hair than i already have seen falling away Aside from this, there is the fake probability problem, even if purchased on Amazon. The PX100-2 is another story. Some people consider them veiled, more dark, with recessed treble and prefer the older model or the Koss. And they cost more. Maybe buy a KSC75 and modding them is a better choice, and they cost less, but thinking about budget, any of these options are sonically comparable to a modded bigger Superlux, like the 662 Evo ? They don't seem, but as i said in the HD572-SP thread, these kind of lightweight headphone are easier to use for longer than a full and over ear headphone. But even with heating problem ( summer is coming ), lightweight on ear seem more like a sidekick to me, for when it's better to have comfort than quality, but the PortaPro is comfortable ? The clamping force of PX100-2 is too much ? And the hooks of the KSC75 ? Dunno, even portability don't seem really something to consider, with earbuds and IEMs around. So... what to do ? Even knowing these two better option exist, my old walkman headphone ( Sony MDR-101 ) is still there, after falling thousand times, and changing cheap cushion one after another ...maybe i can start to buy an HD572A ( at worst i gift them ), as i was saying in the other thread.

I can wear KSC75 for many hours. The earclips do not seem to be liked by everyone. What some that don't like these clips might not realize is that one can carefully bend these things so they sit comfortable.
I don't get warm ears using these. Riding a bike or using them in windy conditions is a no-no. Isolation is almost non existent either.
Sonically they are not in the HD662-EVO league BUT as I said with these Koss drivers it doesn't matter. My ears quickly adapt to them and when only wearing these there is nothing you can fault them.
All Superluxes in that portable range should be ignored. Sofar I found none that have really good sound.
These earclip things are easy to store away when travelling in a small box. KSC75 are cheap and can easily be sold onwards. Wouldn't buy the KSC35.
