This amp is working great, I have another plus a Desktop Kameleon so little use for it really. I'm also going to build a Mk2 portable. Unfortunately I decided to do the mod shown in the Mk2 manual that lets the top slide back part way to enable quick filter changes. The 'lid' of this one was always tight but it didn't matter as I was still using four Mk1s, one for each 'phone in use so had forgotten how tight it was. In the course of filing and working at the case (the only one that gave any trouble) I have scraped it a lot but someone might like it for rough use and to try a Kameleon which is a great amp. It slides alright now These pics. are close up and detailed as I want the buyer to know what they're getting. A new Hammond case could be bought. £50 plus post. One thing is that it's illegal to post these batteries now, once they're out of their original pack so a new set will have to be bought. The case is square, just the close up is distorting the straight edges.

First try at posting pics without Photobucket.
These are a decent size in reality so if anyone wants to see the originals PM me.
Forgot to say, a 'flat gain' filter will be included, as it makes a great general amp as well.
The extra socket on the rear panel is an alternative input, just jumpered across from the front.

You get a decent size by clicking on the photo.

Syd, can i just ask what you are using instead of photobucket? cheers Simon, I know I am not Syd but think Syd is just using the attachment facility in pro-boards, which works fine but is limited to the size. I have found Flickr works well with 1TB free storage and they do not bug you everytime you log on. Time will tell if the do the dirty on us like photobucket

In the course of filing and working at the case (the only one that gave any trouble) Syd, when I was building my MK2 portable Kameleon I thought I do not want to spend hours in my garage filing the casework and found that if you only file the first 5mm See Pic It allows the top to slide and you only have to undo the top two rear screws to to access the filter, literally takes ten seconds to change a filter

"Syd, when I was building my MK2 portable Kameleon I thought I do not want to spend hours in my garage filing the casework and found that if you only file the first 5mm See Pic" Hi Chris, you took the sensible option I actually had no problem filing the half-lengths but it turned out the case itself was too narrow, weird. The file slip marks where after a very long time filing at the lid part that slips into the case grooves. Then I had a bright idea, a bit late,to widen the case out and all came right. No idea why I even started the mod anyway as I was selling it on by that stage anyway The mod is a good idea, I like the half-opening option and it went very well on my other one, which was very free moving from the start. If it doesn't sell I'll probably re-case it at some point, though the cases have shot up in price recently. I guess since it's portable some may get scratched anyway, mine sit on my desk all of the time
