In case anyone's interested, today the Beyerdynamic T5p version 2 is listed at 755 EUR at amazon.fr. Not sure if this headphone is worth it thought, I hear conflicting opinions

Not sure any headphone is worth that imo...especially a closed 'portable' phone.
I remember the days when the HD600 was a high end phone. Barely qualifies as lower middle class now. Like me. ;-)

UK shipping only unfortunately but available for a great price here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Beyerdynamic-T5p-2nd-Gen-Tesla-32-Ohm-Closed-Portable-Headphones-B-STOCK/273335567161?epid=233691851&hash=item3fa411c339:g:5usAAOSwk-1aOPevNormally this price would raise alarm bells but seller is 100% legit & provides excellent customer support (Polar Audio is Beyer's UK distributor). Bought a pair from them myself and they were pristine. Zero box damage and 100% unused w/ 5 yr warranty. In the T5P 2G's favour build quality is superb and materials feel premium. Generous bundle of accessories including a good quality detachable cable and a fancy carry case, although storage case might be a better descriptor as it's far too bulky for portable use. But for me their sound really wasn't anything special (good not great and didn't seem to scale much going from my V20 to home dac/amp). imho the £400 I paid felt like a fair price, esp. given build quality and premium feel/looks, but in terms of sound there are other closed backs I'd likely opt for over these (personal taste), albeit some not so portable. Not that the T5P are all that portable imho. Don't want to sound too down on the T5P as it's not a bad closed back, but the pricing is frankly ridiculous. If I'd paid full price (rrp £1,049 iirc & currently selling for £800+ most places) I think I'd have felt like Beyer had picked my pockets and pulled my pants down!! But such is the nature of the headphone market at the mo' with many companies adopting 'how much can we bleed these suckers for' pricing strategies

Look at the HD688 frequency response, waterfall and the impulse response. U can find similarities and alot cheaper. I would not buy for that price.
