Picked up some vintage toys tonight. Thought you guys may like to have a look as I always enjoy looking at vintage gear. Nothing super rare or exciting but I find them cool. Heathkit items will not be used but love them all the same! Actually went to look at the Sencore only as the price was outstanding. Turns out this guy had a lot of good gear and all but the Precision 920 were one owner gear! The tube testers seem to function but of course because of their age, they could probably use a good tune up. I also have a calibrated and gone through B&K 707 tube tester on the way from a great guy Keith (does the DBV3 T50RP mods) so this has been a great week! Gotta love the desert. Nothing corrodes here as we have no humidity and our homes are air conditioned. Things do tend to dry out though.
Picked up...
- Heathkit Precision RF frequency generator (no use for it but looks great on the shelf) works but not tested. Has replacement parts inside so has been worked on. One previous owner
- Heathkit Audio Signal Generator model IG-72 - Love it. Perfect working order. All original! Museum quality. Original power cord in perfect condition! One previous owner
- Heathkit Vacuum tube Multimeter model IM-11. Not functional but will make it work hopefully. Few small chips or dings - original probe! Lens looks like someone accidentally swiped it a few times with a soldering iron so will be on the watch for parts. One previous owner and original power cord.
- Precision 920 tester. Amazing - virtually mint condition with all adapters, probes and paperwork! Roll chart is perfect. Everything looks outstanding. Belonged to a lab - calibration sticker missing. All screws have zero signs of use and no marring under them. So everything indicates she is original. Even the original power cord in excellent condition. Tried a single tube and it seems to work. But will have to go through it a lot more. Only non original part is a slightly... custom handle. Will have to source a stock replacement Definitely has seen some use as the thumb wheel around the roll chart is a little shiny.
- Sencore TC-142. Just warped back in time as this thing looked like it was used only a couple of times at best! Total time capsule. Also appears to function as described, perfectly. Really excited to find this guy. Total museum quality. One previous owner and original cord.
