Hi Dave, Not brilliant if you get done for import tax plus postage. The DT660 is probably ok but can be bought from a 'kosher' supplier in the UK for £130. www.amazon.co.uk/Beyer-Dynamic-DT-660-Beyerdynamic/dp/B000Y03A3A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374613296&sr=8-2&keywords=dt660I like Beyers a lot but also the Denon D2000 so I suspect that D5000 is very good too. The D5000 interests me a lot more if it's not a fake. I do like the Denons and the D5000 is good value and has a great sound. The Denons have a warm, powerful bass and a very clean top end. Streets ahead of the DT660. The D2000 is excellent and the 5000 (and 7000) even better. However, for me, once you go above £250 for a headphone, Dave I feel there's more need for care. Diminishing returns comes to mind and I'm loathe to go for the really high end ones because of VFM factor. The DT660 gets good reviews and Beyers are built like brick houses. I had a 'lesser' Beyer years back (It may have been known as a 550 and I must say, it was very good. You may find it's slightly smaller than say the DT770 in the cups. My old 550(?) was and was a bit tight for the ears. The only Beyer I have a problem with is the DT1350. I find that one very hard to live with. Dave, the DT990 is semi-closed which means that it cuts 'some' sound. More than a true open headphone. It also sounds very good for £130. Big hearted sound. Be careful of fakes.
