I was wondering if anyone has achieved SQ improvements by replacing their headphone cable? The cable on my Hifiman HE-400 is a perfectly adequate Canare one but I have found myself looking at the aftermarket ones now and again. They are expensive, I know some people replace them because their cable isn't flexible or is too short but there isn't much information on how the sound quality is altered.

There are TONS of reports about sonic improvements all across the range, bass, sub-bass, mids and or highs.
Strangely enough there have been NO technical reports/graphs/plots/measurements (nor do sellers seem to have them) that FR is changed OR THD has been altered in anyway. I have NOT been able to measure any difference at all provided the headphone STAYS on the test rig and isn't moved.
Also differential amps (these compare the input and output signals of a device, in this case a HP cable) do not show differences of any kind.
This all doesn't mean we cannot hear differences even when literally nothing changed.
