I got up this morning and my Notebook refused to do anything. Started to boot and stopped. Since it's been playing up for a year now, I decided that it was time for an execution.
Boy, are they difficult to break!! I opened up eventually after ripping its screen off but something was still holding it all together, so brute force until I got to the hard drive, ripped it out and hammered it flat. That will stop anyone accessing any data unless they're desperate!!
Yes ....... It was backed up. Maybe you should back your data up? I got no warning.

Completely done in, Dave. It showed a logo and just froze up saying files missing. Plus the fact that the display was flashing all kinds of colours. It had been doing all kinds of random things for a year so it was on the cards.

Sorry Dave, mine was a joke too!!! I thought maybe you didn't get it as well!!!! I'm a bit dry in terms of humour sometimes. Ask my daughter.

Whoops...... one problem. Nearly 300 holiday photos were moved onto it.
Not to panic, I found an 'undelete' programme on the internet and managed to recover them from my camera, although they had previously been deleted.
Oh, the joys of computers and lost files!!!
