It works on thermal expansion of air and will most likely be limited in SPL and connecting it to a high power amp will blow it.
Another speaker that doesn't work with a membrane and uses thermal expansion of air is the plasma speaker. This one is limited in lower frequency range but can easily do 100kHz. The nano thingy in a sealed enclosure will have very little problems with lows perhaps just limited in SPL. This nano thingy may be limited in upper frequencies as well as it takes time to heat-up materials, heating up plasma fast is much faster.
