i see 2 new releases on their website..... LCD-X and XC ! www.audeze.com/products/headphonesFrans please tell me these will sound no different to my lcd-2 (with your filter of course)?

its odd how they advertise a " greater frequency extension" and yet the FR is quoted the same as Lcd-2 in the spec!

It can be a gamble with these expensive headphones. The specs may well be good etc, but in the end, you need to like the sound.

The specs may well be good etc, but in the end, you need to like the sound. i pushed the boat right out with the lcd2, so there is no way i am chucking that amount of cash at another set of phones. i will be in the market for a portable player and some good closed phones to accompany it, after christmas. but those xc's are way out of my range. i will be looking for something around the £200 mark(max).

Closed headphones are difficult. I don't really know what I'd recommend tbh. I have more problems with a closed headphone than open if I'm honest. They just sound closed in to me. I have k450, a900, Senn HD250.
Ones I fancy trying are the new Demons. I like the d2000 which is semi closed and am curious about the we replacements.
