yes I see that is indeed a good price. never heard of the website though. am I mistaken or have the hd650s gone up in price over the last few years?
for what its worth I still LOVE my 650's, came close to selling them and the cardas cable ... once. but don't think I'll ever let them go now. very good headphone.
and I used to think the retail on this was crazy high lol, now I see them (other cans) topping 1000 usd, daaaayyyyy uuuummmm

They have gone up Chaz. In the UK, they're around £300 now and they're getting to close to the cost of of this for comfort.
I really like both the HD600 and 650 a lot. Would prefer an 800 though since the top is less thick sounding.
That site is based on so many people opting in to buy so bringing the price down. It's based in the USA I think so even easier for people over there. We might have to add tax as well, thinking about it which is a bit daft for a European headphone.
One thing I don't like about Senns is the cost of things like replacement pads. Way too much. Instead of replacing them, some just wash them but eventually, the foam breaks down so the sound becomes a bit heavier.

The HD650 is still one of the flattest and lowest distortion headphones up till this day.
Had been thinking about selling mine (no cracked paint) but still haven't done so.

It's one of those headphones that I always return to, Frans. The 650 is smoother than the 600 which can sound a bit 'gritty' by comparison but it is a tad more open as well. I like the 650 a lot though. There aren't that many replenishing them either, are there? (To get the bass down/treble up) Other than taking out the felt and replacing with nylon, but that also helps them to 'ring' a bit!!
I think that in Europe, they are verging on too expensive now at £300.

no cracked paint here either frans not knowing much about market and pricing for profit. I'll assume since as mentioned before others are asking over 1000 dollars for headphones, perhaps that is why the 650's have gone up in price over last few years. I'm not about to pay 1000 dollars for ANY headphone, they could be make by God himself and I would not pay that much lol all the same, good find rabbit. think I shall at site to b marks and check it now and again. one can NEVER have TOO many sources for product I like that there can be so many differences in sound reproduction with headphones. quite curious now about these fostex t50rp or wtf ever their name is. including fran's I have seen 5 people making mods to those cans.

Mine has cracked paint on the headband, but they are pretty old now and have been used at work, home, moving around .... all over the place. I fitted a Beyer pad over the band which covers it up as well as making it more comfortable to wear for long periods. Pretty poor for an expensive headphone really.
The T50 is an unassuming headphone, Chaz. It looks so ordinary; in fact old fashioned. Once nodded properly, they really are a great headphone. Even better with the Filter that Frans designed for them which extends the treble extension a lot and takes a couple of other 'nasties' in the fr away. Unmodified, they are nothing like the same. Good for monitoring purposes but not so great for general listening imo.
That's another headphone that went up courtesy of all the popularity caused by diy people!! I reckon Fostex realised that they were onto a good thing there.

Hi Frans, If you do decide that you can live without your HD650s in the near future, can I have first refusal please? - always interested in good cans. No commitment on either side. Cheers, Dave.
