Anyone know the output capacitance of the V-DAC??
I am considering building an HD650 "veil lifter" designed by Frans. One of the requirements is "Source output capacitance (if present): min 10uF" I have searched on the web but found nothing.
Does anyone know if the V-DAC meets this criteria or has confidence in a guess?
Any information would be appreciated.

Judging from the layout on BCP pictures I don't think it has an output capacitor. Output resistance is 47 Ohm for sure ! It seems to be DC coupled out so no problem there.
You can build the upper passive filter. As this filter is in the line input you can keep it really small. That filter works better than the inline filter for the headphone.

Thank you Frans.
I built the other (between headphone and amp) HD650 veil filter last night but haven't had a chance to evaluate it. Had a problem with one channel. I re-soldered every joint and did quite bit of troubleshooting only to determine in the end that I had to push the plug a little further into the SRII in order to make good contact. Everything worked well after that and sounded great but it was too late for me to do any kind of evaluation.
I will probably go ahead and order the parts for the other HD650 filter and I'll build the T90 filter tonight.
Thanks again.
EDIT: One of the problems I have been trying to fix with my T50RP (modified to DBV3)is that they also sound a little veiled. Not quite as badly veiled as the HD650, but still veiled. I just took a quick listen to the modified T50RP with the simple HD650 filter and it seems to have lifted the veil significantly.
Based on your knowledge of these two headphones, does it sound reasonable that the HD650 filter could work with the modified T50RP in this way?

It will add a few dB but the T50RP needs much more but at different frequencies. This cannot be solved with passive filters though.

Frans, thank you for the response. I thought I heard some improvement. I will probably shoot Jeremy an e-mail and see if he can put a T50RP kit together for me.
